Not enough room in the Inn twin: IF Bourne outplays Baker and Polk them more power to him: and doom on them. Fun fact both Mack Hollins and Kendrick Bourne had their Best Pro Years Statistically under McDaniels Hmmmmm.
Your right twin... did you check this post with poster extraordinaire clomery?? I'm thinking 7 WRs make the roster.. unless we somehow get your guy Hunter???

Yea but Boutte came on last year w/ Maye. The kid needs targets hes comfortable with.
Yeah Boutte was shaded by the Safety a lot after Maye hit him on that Bomb vs the Texans. K Boutte should be singled up more now with the new additions and a better Pop Douglas. I hope Josh unlocks Pop Douglas the Potential is there.

@Thelonious

You wanted us to use our words. Here you go:

Stop being such a grumpy old bastard. Every time you say you hate "these asinine video clips" you put a target on yourself. Guys like me can't resist pushing your buttons.

They are called gifs, an acronym. Graphical Interchange Format.

Welcome to the 21st century.
Me being an old bastard also
I like GILF’s better

The guarantee is spread over three years. Veteran receivers and tight ends are solid if Diggs can go at the beginning of the season. This also frees up the Patriots to focus on OT early in this draft. This move also opens up opportunities to draft young WRs who can learn from Diggs, Bourne, Pop Douglas and others with the pressure to be the #1 in 2025.

$26M guaranteed isn't really all that much money relative to what other players in his position has gotten.

I'm concerned about him coming off ACL injury, but he passed his physicals and assuming he can return to form, even 80% Diggs should be better than what Polk and Baker did last year.

They can be. They can also be playful, clever and evocative.

Again, they can be. Yet the use of asinine humor can in itself convey an intelligent riposte to an asinine initial post. As in, I saw that and thought this...

I would submit the intellectual exercise that goes into selecting a gif involves an actual thought, one that provides a concise expression of a mindset. In fact by reaching into the vast grab bag that is pop culture and coming up with something that instantly imparts understanding in a large portion of the folks viewing it the poster achieves no small intellectual accomplishment. They have quickly gotten their idea across and done it in a way that can amuse, inform and entertain. One could argue that viewed in that light, gifs are a fairly proficient method of communicating.

As an example this...

...is far more evocative to anyone viewing it than posting...

"Words fail me"

Issue is health. If healthy, he is worth it. If not, we grossly overpaid. The fact we paid what we did is a result of being less appealing than other teams IMO.
I think this angle is overblown, at least specifically for Diggs. I don't think he had much of a choice

3 years is pretty much the max I'd have wanted to go, so, not bad at all. Enough cap that if he gets to be a pain, can take the hit. Works for me.

Money certainly doesn't indicate he's a lock, but true X receivers are rare on this roster and I think they will highly value his skillset. Plus, his character and reliability as well.
Plus he is a very good special teams player
That keeps you on a team during roster cuts

I fully expect something to go wrong in year 2 but hoping for a good Diggs the first year

TE's Henry and Hooper should be more dangerous now on play action. Josh loves TE's in the passing and Blocking game.

I don't think Polk is protected by his 2nd round status if Vrabel & Josh aren't impressed by him. He's gotta perform or he's gone.

I expect Bourne to outplay Polk and Baker in training camp. And Vrabel's mindset is to be good now, he's not thinking this has to take years. The Pats are gonna make noise THIS year, similar to the way Washington did last season. So Bourne's age won't be a factor. He turns 30 in August and is under contract for this year and next (age 30 and 31 seasons).

Otoh, if we draft a promising WR, or if someone like SF wants to trade for him, he could be also gone.

Unfortunately, with the Giants signing Russell Wilson, we will miss out on Hunter. Unless we trade up. Would love to see Hunter and Diggs together though.
Figured it was likely nonsense that Shedeur was going in the top 3 but was hoping the Giants or Cleveland was dumb enough to do it. I don’t know what the Giants are doing. I figured Jameis was a bridge and they were drafting someone. Now they have two bridge guys with nothing to build on for the future.

My son was 9 last year when Diggs randomly popped up at a youth basketball tournament. Diggs was nice enough to take a pic, and had a small conversation about him embarrassing the Patriots. My son has another reason to be a Patriot fan now. I know he's gotten a bad rap at times, but he was nice in this randomn encounter.
For a second I thought it was a pic of Maye and Diggs 10 years ago

Yeah, could go either way. I don't think Boutte struggled with BOB's offense as much as he just was not put on the field by Bill. With having taken a step forward last year and now having more help around him, he could come a solid player who rotates in on the other side of Diggs.

I agree with this. My beef is not with the cost. It is with the overall idea that a team which will not be genuinely competitive for two years anyway would take on a player who in those same two years will be worthless. To me this move is merely to appease the fanboy and radio yappers too impatient for more responsible moves which take chances on players who might actually be worth a d--n in a couple years.

Now I think Diggs is slowing down even before this, but this is a good argument for him being a 1,000 plus yard WR again.

Comparable but not comparable.

JE suffered his injury in mid Aug so he had a 4 month head start on when Diggs blew his out. JE also knew the offense. Yes JE was a year older and essentially fell off a cliff in Nov 2019.

I'm not sure how much Diggs was slowing down. if you say he was then I believe you.
