I know he had some fans in the draft forum. Freak size & athleticism (Obi Melifonwu - Player Profile Advanced Football Stats & Metrics).

Obi Melifonwu played youth football in Framingham, Grafton High, and UConn. He's got experience on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Very interesting kid with deep local roots. He's gotta be thrilled to be home. His injury history is a concern but there's a high ceiling here for little risk.

Depending on how quickly he can grasp at least some parts of the playbook, I can envision him, by regular season's end, taking some snaps as a substitute for one of our LBs or Safeties during some less-stressful 3rd-down situations, whenever he is active of course.

Seems like he could be a situational plug in, if he can play at all. physical traits indicate disruptive matchups.
