Player Signing Patriots sign Eagles DT Milton Williams

It's a possible overpay, but almost every FA is an overpay. Thing is, he is still really young so he has room to grow. I think he is going to be a weapon on the line.
Well the one thing that gives me optimism is his last year was his best year by a mile. If that is the new normal or a stepping strone to even better years i think the deal is actually fairly reasonable, If there is even the slightest regression though, i'm nervous. But i'm actually not THAT MUCH against over paying when it comes to players of a certain caliber. What i hate over paying on is mid level starters. Milton at the least shouldn't be that.

Not to throw cold ice on this. And i know he is considered the best defender on the market.... but for a guy about to be paid 26 million per year... you have to ask yourself where has the production been during his career? 11.5 sacks in 4 regular seasons doesn't scream 26M/year to me. I hope everyone is right about him and he is that good and ready to take the next step in his career and play up to this deal.

Right now i am going to be optimistic... but this may be an over pay.

I think he’ll be great as long as we don’t rely on him to be THE guy ie hopefully barmore comes back, landry remains productive as a pass rusher, white takes a leap with better surroundings, and maybe we draft another edge rusher. He had alot of talent around him in philly, we’re not going to replicate that but if we just had him and what we had in 24 it wouldn’t work imo.

Also want to point out that no way this signing happen had Barmore been healthy and had a standout season. If it did, it would cause problems.

Milt, Barmore, and White looks pretty pretty pretty good.

Don't forget about me too SBB..

The guy that stands benefit greatly from our front is Gonzo.. I believe gonzo can stand to Gamble a bit more and pick off passes..

If Barmore comes back healthy, that DL will be very nasty. Even if not, they’ll still be solid. Tonga, Pharms, Roy will be decent pieces and they can probably pick up another good DT in the draft.

Lil' Jerry Pharma absolutely ****ing Sucks; and even King Roy's really just a practice squad-level talent.

And that should've given this front orifice pause... A lot of it.

Some of you would find a gold bar and b*tch about having to bend over to pick it up. Really is unreal.
Do they get to use soap when they bend over to pick it up?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Personal attack? Seems more like a compliment!
LOL. I call it fellas poking one another in the ribs, you know, verbally.

"Your mother wears army boots," by the way.

Bwahahahah. I coach football in southern Illinois with a guy that uses that quote on a daily basis trying to distract our players either in WR drills or the kicker on PAT. Had never heard it before, and have never heard it from anyone else. Always thought it was something he made up. Great stuff

Maybe they feel good about barmores progress and/or plan to do more in the draft up front. Its got alot of potential too, he will see an increase in snaps vs Philly where snaps were tough to come by so he could also produce alot more. it works both ways here, but i think the upside is likely here especially if theyre still planning to draft a couple more pieces up front

So is the argument that because PHI had other guys to worry about Milton Williams got more 1 on 1 matchups to feast on and now here he'll be the guy getting doubled or game-planned for so it will be harder? OK, isn't that still good though? Now we have someone getting doubled or game-planned for? Maybe that hurts his individual production but isn't that a huge boost for the defense overall to have someone drawing that kind of attention?

Sure they're going to need to put better rushers around him but I have to imagine that's their plan. Over the next few seasons I'd expect they have an organizational goal to continue adding good rushers. You're not going to just import 5 great pass rushers at once. The first step to having a stacked DL is adding 1 good DL. Then you keep doing that.
