We gotta pay Tonga

It really is amazing how they hit on pretty much all of their free agents and a big chunk of their draft picks.
Landry is the only one that looks iffy. He might be injured though.

The Pats only have five unrestricted free agents this year. The resigning priority is Chaisson, Hawkins, Tonga, Hooper, and Lowe (Ha Ha). I think your 3-year, $18 m hit the possible max on the nose if he finishes the year strong.

Per OverTheCap.com, they also have a bunch of RFAs: Jack Gibbens, Tommy DeVito, Alex Austin, Ben Brown, Caleb Murphy, and Jaquelin Roy.

Tonga should get a reasonable extension, but he’s a run stuffer with the 3rd most defensive snaps at DT. Having Barmore and Williams ahead of him helps him carve out a role. But he has played well, he deserves a reasonable contract.

I think he's playing through something, hope he has a chance to get healthy down the stretch. I really don't want the guy to be washed.

Thank God Chaisson is tearing it up.

That 2024 draft will live as the ultimate oxymoron. On one hand the fact that it landed just ONE player who has a regular role. (and one player who has been a healthy scratch all season. And 6 players who are no longer with the team, just one year later. That's a BAD draft. On the other hand, that was also the draft that brought us a TRUE franchise QB, who has developed FAR faster than anyone could have hope. And once a team has THAT commodity, it is SOOOOOOO much easier to build a championship roster around him.

We didn't know how fast it would go for Maye. He was still just a good prospect coming into the season that we HOPED would progress into what he has become in a few years. But when you get hit by that lightening, you can truly have one-year turnarounds like we are seeing here.

So, was the 2024 draft one of the worst drafts of the decade, or one of the BEST, because it was in that draft, we found the answer to the toughest question of the championship test.
Hitting on the #4 pick doesn't absolve the drafting ineptness that followed the Maye pick, especially when one takes into account NE was drafting near the top of each round.
Therefore............the totality of the 2024 draft was closer to "worst" than "best", but hitting on Maye definitely elevates '24 above several of the abysmal post-Brady drafts.

N'Keal and SlowJuan disagree.

Landry has disappeared. Must be hurt
He’s not playing bad, still good as a run stopper. Just going back to what he’s been as a pass rusher. Average, with a knack to get some cleanup sacks.

I think Tonga will take it. Chaisson will probably want to see his market value. Can’t blame him.
Considering we gave him a chance and he'd be playing on a Team with a Great Young QB. Also a perennial Playoffs contender I think he stays: we have help him get to where he is now. It's not always about the $$$$$$ or so I hope in his case.

Figure he'd be a bit better playing next to barmore and Milton

I could see paying Gibbens and Brown second round tender money. The others don't matter.

Who's idea was it to put Tonga in as a fullback midfield? Just evil....

The only person that should be paying lowe is home depot.. Definitely agreed on Chaisson, Tonga are high priority resigns.. for sure.

If I wasn't so cheap, I would get a Tonga jersey. Do they even have a Tonga jersey.
