Patriots receive fourth round compensatory pick

Getting #140 is a big that gives the Patriots a shot at a lot of very talented prospects – Bryan Stork, Brandon Coleman, Justin Ellis, and others.

I maybe a little off but I think this would mean the Patriots now hold picks –

- #29
- #62
- #93
- #130
- #140
- #198
- #206
- #244

Let me know if that sounds right.

Honestly . . . WTF? I think the entire debate was one 6 vs. two 6s.

How on earth did the Pats get a 4?

As they have 2 6th now, I'm happy that they have a late 4th in this draft class. They don't have a 5th rounder.

Who is to say that the infamous formula doesn't get tweaked now and then. Maybe the performance aspect got weighted up a bit. Woodhead had a nice season, Welker as well..

I smell conspiracy!

The NFL knows Bill can't keep a 4th in his pocket.

Just their way of adding some spice to the off-season.

Though having written this, I seem to remember that these compensatory picks can't be traded away... Mmm...

So they give him a 4 he can't trade?

The 49ers now have 6 top 100 picks.

He can trade the other one now.

"The Chicago Bears have traded the 14th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft to the New England Patriots for their 1st, 4th and 6th round picks. The Patriots select Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh"

Not going to happen, I do not even know if #29 and #62 would get us there the points would be 924 for those two picks and #14 is worth 1100 points.

#29 for #56, #61, and #77…

That would be a serious steal on our part. I suspect it's more likely they'd want to get higher in the first. Aaron Donald to be the new Justin Smith perhaps?

Yeah never happen #29 might get #56 and #61 but never #77 as well, unless there are two players they want before their division rival picks in round one then maybe we could hold them for a ransom but highly unlikely.

How did we receive a 4th rounder
Welker leaving?
