Yea but he ran with the 2nd teamers yesterday and now is essentially the 4th safety.I'm not certain we should make anything of it for another week or two. They seem to be giving everyone a shot with the ones.
Dugger is on the bubbleNot sure what to make of that.
Has anyone said anything about the injury to James, I believe after the injury he just walked off the field back to the training room which hopefully means he’ll be back soon.James is absent, not good.
Marcus Bryant not absent, good.
By having $60m in space, they could accelerate the cap charge and have the $9m in remaining dead money count this year ( I think)Dugger is on the bubble
His dead cap would be 14 million and savings this year is only 1 million.Dugger is on the bubble
in 2026, if he's here, the injury guarantee converts to a full guarantee on March 18... so if they don't release him this year, this will be his last season in New England...His dead cap would be 14 million and savings this year is only 1 million.
A trade makes the dead cap 4.5 million and savings over 10 but who is taking on that contract?
He has no guaranteed money after this year lowering is dead cap hit.
Financially no real advantage to cutting him until fter this season.
All that said he looked done last year, I know the injury, lots of talk about the injury, but he was out there playing and was slow and this year: looks slow. He really might just be done, the injury maybe slowed him permanently. If so, you can't keep him over someone else.
that would be a good use of the cap space tbh... he's got a 10.7m base salary next year...By having $60m in space, they could accelerate the cap charge and have the $9m in remaining dead money count this year ( I think)
If that’s how you evaluated him, why wouldn’t you use an end of the bench roster spot to see if he just needed room to adjust to being a pro.To be honest I thought he was Brian Thomas Jr. lite; that guy below. But Teams miss on WR's all the a time; the position have a Huge Bust percentage. We have another in Slow Polk unfortunately.

Don't say that AJ; as fans we are just very passionate about our Team: some fans more than others. That said: it sucks when a certain Team Drafts Player X and that player becomes a hit. On the flip side the Patriots Drafts Player Y no pun and they become a Bust. Case and point: Drafting Ladd McConkey last year should have been a no brainer. We absolutely blew a valuable Second Rounder on Polk last year: that shouldn't happen in Round Two... you know misery loves company. That said I would love to eat crow if Javon Baker becomes a player: but I wouldn't bet on it.If that’s how you evaluated him, why wouldn’t you use an end of the bench roster spot to see if he just needed room to adjust to being a pro.
Imagine yourself at 21 or 22 you not only become a professional, but everything you do impacts your ability to compete against he best of the best in the world. Diet, sleep, lifestyle, commitment (yes they all are committed big to diffferent degrees and the “slackers” don’t think they are slacking) ability to learn, family being of not being near, partying too much, fitting in with other players, weight room, confidence; the lack of or over abundance, etc, etc.
I think if you see the guy as a unique talent wr5 or wr6 isn’t going to have a very big impact on our season this year. But if we use it develop a player, it could have a big impact next year.
I never understood why fans get angry at players, like they are doing it to them, on purpose.
Dugger is a good football player. Hating him because out idiot coaching staff put him man to man with WR1s, while he was limping on an ankle that need surgery is obtuse.About Dugger, at some point it wony be about numbers
I think the most we can rollover is 30m, and it doesnt seem like we are going to splash the remaining, so we dont really need to worry about the dead cap this year
He was supposed to be a cornerstone player, one of the few that didnt suck from previous stints. Then he Peppers gets the leadership position and his spot. Hawkins is brought in, a rookie passes him.
And it doesnt light a fire under him. There hasnt been a single good report on him.
Do we really need this mentality on the team? I dont think it matches with Vrabel's style
Goodbye, so long, farewell IMO
Was Maye between the white lines? That gotta be on Drake Maye... we never heard things like that with Brady.
Twin it happened with Brady.. early Brady years.. there was no twitter, Instagram, ect,ect.. we had to rely on eyewitness reports back then.. everything is magnified with all the media coverage..That gotta be on Drake Maye... we never heard things like that with Brady.
Thats fairDugger is a good football player. Hating him because out idiot coaching staff put him man to man with WR1s, while he was limping on an ankle that need surgery is obtuse.
