Can't Blame him though going from the First Offense to the Worse Offense statistically is a significant drop off. Aiyuk is a real Human being it not all about the $$$$$$ for him gotta call it like it is.

I think a lot of people are coping with missing out on guys by imagining that Maye is going to come in and show a ton of potential along with other young guys (mostly at WR) and next year we're going to be seen as some bright up and coming team that players see as a good destination.

I'm skeptical it's going to be that easy. The OT position is in shambles right now. It's hard to imagine our rookie WRs or the small slot we took last year who looked ok but nothing special are going to be instant STUDS this year even if they do show out well so it's unlikely that we have a quality top of the depth chart at WR. We missed out on the more notable offensive play caller candidates and have someone with limited experience in the role.

Maye is in a terrible position to succeed this year. We haven't really given him anything that can lead anyone to realistically think he's in position to play well this year. I'd be shocked if he's able to do anything this year to make himself look like an attractive option to play with next year for vets. I'm sure there will be progress on film and encouraging signs for people who put the work in to break it down, but my guess is the surface level results will be so poor that players around the league still shy away.

I think giving him a #1 WR would have pushed everyone down the depth chart would have at least given him a chance to make enough splash plays and show encouraging signs that players around the league could see him as a guy with potential and us as a team that could realistically turn it around. With what we have now, I think we'll still be looked at as purgatory around the league this time next year.

It's very simple. The problem was offense last season. And you could say in 2022 as well. All in all is still football. Running the ball takes so much pressure off an O line and a QB. Maye was drafted to be developed into the QB we need him to be. That's fine. This isn't a complete team overhaul the defense is already championship level. Providing an offense that can run the ball , hit open WRs and sustain drives will go along way to getting back to a winning formula.

They didn't choose not to spend money. They just offered 30 million a year and got denied. If they want to spend money just to spend it, they could waste it all giving everyone extensions this year. It's just not a smart move.

The GOAT pissed off Gronk and got him to stay away from football a year and then force his way out a year later to run to the QB. The GOAT chose to pick up Jonnu Smith. The GOAT chose to sit on his hands and pick Mac Jones. The GOAT chose to walk into 2020 with pants down and scramble for Cam Newton last minute. The GOAT never made a serious play for a WR in the better part of a decade.

I get it, you don't want to deal with the fact that Belichick objectively showed that without Brady he's pretty close to the exact same guy he used to be before Brady that nobody really felt was anything special. But the results don't lie. Bill has coached 11 full years without Brady. His resumes with and without him speak for themselves.

Almost every game was three and out, three and out, omg the other team is ahead time for an indefensible turnover. Assuming that Maye is not a disaster while getting back to being competitive and forcing the other team to win the game vs giving it away will be a major step in the right direction.

I think we could be much better than regarded I think having a Excellent Kicker not named Chad Wide-Left is going to be key. The last thing this Team needs is a mediocre Kicker which I think Wide-Left is taking points off the Board.

They drafted a wr #2 in 2022, drafted another last year, brought in a veteran with a track record of production, brought in a receiving TE, brought in a veteran RB2, drafted 3 OL after drafting another #1 in 2022.
That’s a lot more than they did this year.

“Trying to get” does t really cut it. But they “tried to get” Hopkins last year.

They had 100 million in cap space and I cannot name a single position they upgraded with it compared to last year.

The TOs last season by the offense were the reasons we were always behind in games. Turning it over in the red area the defense as good as it is can't always hold teams. They need to come out week one and run at Cincy... make those safeties come up.. Baker can beat them deep.

One of my co- workers attended camp this year he was saying bakers speed is un real. He was 2, 3 steps on every CB not named gonzo. I really like what he can be for the offense. I think baker and folks are going to be ballers.

Realistically these deals cripple the buyer franchise in the loss of draft capital and cap money tied up in a Diva.

It also is. They make a decision based on where they want to play, as well as the amount of money they're being paid, the head coach, and the teammates they're going to be playing with.

All things being equal, they'll go to the environment they prefer, which is what that caliber of player is able to do. Same reason why Calvin Ridley didn't want to come here. Had nothing to do with the $$ because the Patriots were where they needed to be, but were ultimately leveraged to allow Ridley and his wife to remain down south and stay close to family, while also allowing Ridley to play with Hopkins (who he mentioned specifically after the signing).

It is what it is, unfortunately.

Can somebody name a high dollar impact WR trade that actually panned out for the buyer in terms of winning a Super Bowl or making it to a Super Bowl?

You realize only 1 team can win a superbowl every year?

To gage success purely on winning the superbowl is lame.

Watching a 10 win team in the playoffs is lot more exciting than watching a 4 win team.

Watching elite HOF talent on Sundays make outstanding plays and giving you the feeling the team can pull off the win is a lot more fun than watching an offense deft of talent going 3 and out majority of their games.

The NFL is about entertainment and I want to be excited when watching the games. If the Pats don't win the superbowl but put out a winning record and playoff birth along with exciting games on Sunday, then that's a success.
