Both those guys were number 1 wrs on teams without much else on offense. Aiyuk plays on a team with Samuel, Kittle, and Mccafree.

He is literally the 3rd guy to stop on the offense.
He has been the number one receiving option there the last 2 years.

300+ more yards than Kittle last year and 300 more yards than Kittle 2 years ago.
450 more yards than Deebo last year and 400 more yards than Deebo 2 years ago.

He is also only 26 years old and has improved each year he has been in the league. I won't pretend like he doesn't benefit from having all those guys around him but he has been their number one receiving option for a couple years now.

I think we need to trade Bourne regardless of how this plays out. Need to give reps to Polk and Baker and see if they materialize. Plus we have Osbourne in the mix too.

Put him on the PUP, wait to see if they have injuries or the rookies don't look as good as they did in camp... then decide what to do with him.

Not a fan of the trade . He is not going to be stefon diggs or AJ brown.

Letting go of our 2nd next year when we have so many needs on defense and OT makes no sense .

The 30 million saved this year can be used to sign depth players for next year . And we can throw the young ones to the wolves this year and allow them to develop. This is the best opportunity for their development. Don't want reps to be taken away.

Thornton / Baker and Polk all have opportunities to develop along with Douglas emerging in the mould of Edelman . We really don't need a WR now. It's an unnecessary luxury which screws up our cap and draft assets without getting us anywhere .

Let the rookies cook
Oh I hear ya.. someone mentioned the salary. Well guess what if polk and baker turn out to be game changers like ayuik.. they will have to get paid too.. salary is least of My concerns with players. And giving up a 2nd is worth it for ayuik.. WR and QB salary will continue to be reset. I want to rookies to cook too.. with ayuik they become a dangerous offense.

He benefits from a great offense, an accurate QB, a great scheme with Shanahan and defenses having to account for a bunch of other superstars. None of which the Patriots have, not yet.

He's not a 30 million dollar receiver, he's JC Jackson looking great because the defense around him is great.

I have a feeling the trade terms are agreed with both teams. Now it comes down to who can entice Aiyuk to their team with the better contract offer. We can outspend the Browns, guaranteed money will probably be the clincher in salary negotiations.

QB should be a factor too. Particularly if the new deal contains incentives.

If Watson can stay on the field, he has proven that he can light it up. 33 TDs and almost 5000 yards in 2020.

With KB when healthy polk and baker become match up nightmares for 4th and 5th CBs...

Well stated: some people just don't get it with Aiyuk. Put him in this Offense with our Defense and we can win some games we probably shouldn't on our schedule. Maybe Wolf doesn't want to go Tits up in this division.

Brandon Aiyuk is one of the Best Route Runners in the League I would love our Young Guys Learning from him. Can't get something for nothing anymore Wozzy.

So because they're not winning the Superbowl THIS year we don't improve the ONE position they havent got right in decades?
They aren’t winning the SB next year either, and we aren’t even sure if we have a winning QB. Stand pat, get your #1 in the draft. BB is no longer there to screw up the WR picks.

My concern is his fit In the locker room and will he bring a prima donna attitude?

What's with with that?? The choir boy attitude have worked so well the last Four years.

Aiyuk, Pop, Polk and Baker,

I like it.
They'll play 3 WR sets about 70% of the time... so bench one of those guys, and it won't be Aiyuk at 30 million per.

You're also benching Osborn, Thornton and Reagor and cutting one of these outright probably.

Bill bobos melting down over the notion of paying a top end receiver the market rate is not surprising.

And I'll add acquisitions and Trades this is not the Sanu situation.

I just wonder if you can get a better WR with a second next year. I am a bit agnostic towards the potential trade. But Aiyuk is better value that a second rounder. He does have first round talent. Maybe not high first, but definitely first round talent. It really depends on what else the Pats have to give up. But I am ok with giving up a second for him.

They can't help themselves BB lives rent free in their heads.

Ask 32 GM's and head coaches in the league if they're taking Aiyuk over Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson or AJ Brown simply because PFF gave him a better player grade. They'll laugh in your face...

If Aiyuk was any of these players above, he would already be signed to a contract with the 49ers.

He's not and they know it, they can replace him with the rookies they drafted and get similar production. They won't skip a beat.
