That seems in the ballpark, rumor has been Bourne and "picks" and the 2nd has been included in those rumors.
Cleveland is Cooper and picks including their 2nd.
I would think Niners prefer Pats 2nd but unclear if they prefer Bourne or Cooper but seems immaterial what 49ers want as it is all all up to Aiyuk at this point. If Steelers up their offer then they are Aiyuk's preferred destination so still in the running.

I think it depends is whether they are looking more at this year or the future. If they are looking to the future, I think the Pats' offer is better. If they want to win this year, the Browns' offer is better.

But now it isn't in their hands. It is up to Aiyuk where he goes. If they prefer one offer over the other, but Aiyuk makes a deal with the other team; I seriously doubt they will tank the trade because they want what the other team has to offer. If that was the case, they would have given one team exclusive negotiating rights.

As for the trade itself, I am reserving my judgement. I need to see what the Pats actually give up and what the contract is. I would rather have Aiyuk even with a trade and a close to the top of the market deal than Calvin Ridley and what he got though. What they give up in the trade is more of a concern to me than the contract because the Pats have a ton of money and cap space.

I will say this. In today's NFL, having a #1 WR is really important. I don't know if the Pats could get a better receiver next year with a second round pick than Aiyuk. And I don't know if they wait to next year, a second will be enough to get them someone him Higgins (who will likely be franchised and traded) and Lamb, if available in trade, would cost much more. They need to use the #1 pick next year on a LT. So if they can get their #1 WR with a proven commodity, it is worth the effort. It all comes down to what they have to give up.

If the Pats do get Aiyuk, Pop Douglas progresses in year two, and the two rookies live up to their potential, the Pats will quickly go from one of the worst receiving corps in the league to one of the better ones.

So Pitt now?

I’m over it.
Pats and Browns have been the most linked to him but it’s usually a sleeper team that swoops in and closes the deal.

That's where he wants to go, if he wanted Pats or Browns it'd be done by now. If Steelers give enough, it'll be a done deal to the Steelers, hard to believe they would lose him at this point but if they were willing to give 49ers enough it'd be done already.

If it happens, can't wait to bet the under on the Steelers wins after the trade. They don't have a QB.

Already have more promising young WRs than roster space to keep them all. Aiyuk on this roster would just stunt their growth without significantly improving the team.

They have the two rookies, Pop, and maybe you are also referring to Reagor/Boutte/Thornton.

I'd gladly sacrifice either of the later three for a chance with Aiyuk.

BTW, Aiyuk will help the development of the younger players, not hinder. It's not like we have many top veterans who take away opportunities. Let Aiyuk take the double teams.

That 30 million price tag will look less significant by the year with cap annually rising.

And I highly highly doubt Pop will be packaged. Mostly likely would be KB, who Shanahan is familiar with.
I think that's who it would be. Pop doesn't profile as really a "Veteran WR" in the sense of what they're looking for. Has to be KB.

Pittsburgh is interesting but I might take Maye by September of 25 over either of those two QBs.

Baffles me how so many people worry about what would happen if they “overpay” for somebody. If they shore up too much money in Aiyuk then what happens? You can’t fill out a deep roster full of other talented all pro level players?

Kinda like the talentless dumpster fire this team was last year?

The rumored trade is :

2025 2nd round pick + Bourne

I'm fine either way. I like Aiyuk, and if you can get him without giving up your first rounder I'm not gonna say no. But I think there's some wisdom in waiting to see what you have in Maye before you spend major draft/money capital on a WR. I also like the idea of letting Polk and Baker get as many snaps as possible to see what we have there. Long shot either are #1 types, but I want to know if they're legitimate high end #2's.

Whatever the offer is - add a 3rd rounder, call the Bengsls and make a final bid for Higgens!

Yes. There is definitely value in the opportunity to allocate your cap dollars on a sure fire good player, vs being forced to spend those same 30M getting the Jagholors Jonnus and Jujus that make it to FA. It's something that gets ignored in the argument.

Interesting Aiyuk - Pop Douglas - Baker - Polk and Thornton yeah we'll be able to score some points.

Bengals ain't moving Higgins and spell his name right.

The problem for me is the combination of money and draft picks. They can't fill all the holes they have without draft picks.

It really doesn't matter though. I don't think he's coming here.

I’n torn about a Aiyuk trade.
The wrs have been playing in camp.
I know if Bourne goes to San Fran I’m mentally preparing myself he will have a career year and reminding myself Baker is Bourne with more upside.

You can merge with other thread if you must but feel like this is huge news to get buried in the Aiyuk thread

Seems like Wolf is adopting a proven theory that when you have a Potential Young Franchise QB you get them Quality Wide Receivers.

Agree every high end wr wants to spurn us.

You can see my post about Wolf above just look at what Green Bay have done to help Jordan Love. FTR: Green Bay seems to hit on every WR they Draft *jealous*.

Watson
Doubs
Reed
Wicks
Melton
Musgrave = TE
Kraft TE = I wanted him instead or Marte Popoo.

Moral of post get the Young QB the weapons you have a good chance at success.
