It doesn’t sound like we got any priority udfa. In fact, a lot of them are older, so they’re probably there to help build a culture this first camp rather than be part of the long term plans.

They’re all at positions that stand a puncher’s chance, though.
Yeah, I actually noticed there was a few older guys !

We still have room for one more UDFA right?

Any notable names still remaining unsigned?

3cone was actually 6.82, which is excellent for a 6'2.3" dude. Reminds me of Jakobi Meyers (6.87 Pro day 3cone) - Acceleration is decent from Shrine Bowl Zebra data, but there's this speed governor that results in low top end speed, which is NOT what I want in a DB. His fastest recorded speed at Shrine practices/game was 19.25mph. Might not have been moving all out... who knows.

You're right.. I got the columns mixed up.. the 4.34 was his short shuttle. I correct my original post.

I'm really curious to see where Tyler Owens goes. Probably the most athletic person overall and 2nd fastest in this entire draft. Doesn't believe in outer space.

41" Vert, 12'2" Broad (1" short of record), 10.35 100m in HS (+1.9w), 10.01 100m also in HS (no wind reading, nw). 21.55mph measured in the Shrine Bowl practices/game.
Signed with Washington reportedly

Jay Person - ED : Had a Quad injury that prevented him from participating in much of the Tenn-Chattanooga Pro Day.

Very BORING UDFA signings by the Pats. Usually there’s one or two to get excited about. Belichick usually excelled at UDFA signings, whereas he stunk in the 7 round draft (his last 10 years). This was visa versa.

Just said this same thing in another thread.

There might be a special teams player mingled in here, but the UDFA class as a whole sucks.

I think that Turner, Bush or Ford-Dement are the ones likely to surprise people.

I don't get the Fenwick signing. He runs a 4.77 with a 7.34 3-cone and a 4.47 Shuttle? He's got a crappy broad and vertical and mediocre strength..

What I also don't understand is the focus on these older players. To me, I'd have gone with younger players so that you can develop them on the PS. Going with players who will be 24 or older by the start of TC seems to defeat the purpose as they're unlikely to develop more than they already have. 24/25, they should be hitting their peak.

Tbh very low chances of any udfa making it this year. Too many drafted rookies and 2nd year rookies.
The steak of UDFA was broken after a Brady-like run of dominance so it’ll be different for me following this class. Still hoping of course one has a break out camp.

Was hoping for a decent udfa RB to follow but seems like we’ll be looking at an older free agent signing at that position.

Turner's a good athlete, not great but good... the same with Jett Bush and Ford-Dement, could see a special teams role for one or any of them.

I also like the look of Vince Blanchard the Canadien kicker they brought in, I assume he put up those numbers in incumbent weather up north.

These kids have agents/family who are scouring NFL rosters to try and identify the best opportunity for them. I just don't think the Pats were a very attractive employer this year. New coaching staff, recognition that the team needs another couple of years to be playoff competitive, and a roster loaded with youngsters. In the past, going to work for Belichick had some mystique to it.

It's true, incumbent weather always seems to get re-elected. I guess you could call call it an inconvenient...no, maybe an inclement truth.
*Inclement

Spell check got me.

DShawn Fenwick looks a little better than his numbers. Checkout the 2 TD receptions and the hurdle TD run.

Alex Barth is HIGH. Hunter?? The guy who ran a 4.91? I run faster than that.. Not by much. But I do..

Hell, Jacob Warren is also slow as molasses. And a 6th year player..

That being said,Warren MIGHT have a future as a blocking TE. It seems that he is pretty comparable to both Lee Smith and Dwayne Allen. He also had 7 TDs on 48 receptions. So he could be a threat in the End Zone on fake runs.
