Early morning stretching and cardio workout, followed by pancake breakfast.
Watched some Netflix while digesting, but efforts to uncover exactly what he watched have been stymied. Very frustrating.
Studied the playbook late morning.
Had Zoom lunch with agent to get update on contract details.
Early afternoon weight session.
More playbook after that.
Chicken pot pie for dinner.
Took laptop and playbook into bedroom after dinner. Apparently, suffering from a cold and dry skin, as he also took tissues and lotion. Perhaps that's why he's not at practice.

Will keep up this reporting if you guys find it useful.

How about Roberts? Do you like him in Y2 or Guy?

I prefer Roberts to any of Ekulele, Mitchell or Pharms; and if he's willing & able, then the Big Guy definitely has a spot locked-down.

Those first 4, plus Carl Davis, will compete for 1 or 2 spots behind Guy, Barmore, Godchaux, Wise & White.

Two years ago I would have agreed with you on Sam Roberts over Ekulele, but the latter did much better last season than I was willing to give him credit for. However, you are correct in your other postings, CPT Stone, on the need for more beef on the D line.

Roberts has the size and youth that makes him a tough cut. This might be his breakout year.

And maybe Lawrence Guy’s last.

Regarding Roberts v Ekulele, I look at it like this: Bill made his bed by drafting the dude out of nowhere when he might've been able to sign him as a UDFA anyway; so the least he can do is give him a full off-season, TC & pre-season to figure out if he has any reason to keep him longer than that... And I also don't like how Ekulele had to cheat his way to improvement; but if he still beats out Roberts after this much time has passed since he was caught, then so be it.

BOB brings the guidance and a flavor of coaching that Mac needs. Zappe will push him and keep him on his A game. The play-calling will be good and incorporate some modern elements. The TEs will actually be used, and used effectively. The receivers won’t have routes designed to run into one another. The OL will actually have a coach! And best of all, Belichick will be able to focus mostly on the defense where the entire very solid unit from last year except DMac is returning plus adding a new #1 CB and other nice pieces.

The playcalling will be on a completely different level. We are going from the worst playcaller in the NFL last year, to arguably one of the best. Top 5 at least.

BOB is not a people person but he is at least very demanding and exacting.

Agreed. And the non-people person works OK as long as they are not in charge of the whole team (head coach).

He has actually been a very successful HC too (Texans, Penn State). He just ran into big issues when he got roster control.

I do not want to get into a back and forth, but I would not call the Texans' three-time 9-7 record from 2014 to 2016 "very successful". 8-8 is .500, so the Texans were 1 game over .500 three years in a row. "Very successful"? I think it is fair to say BOB did OK (above average), and then it did not get any better in the following years as the personality wore thin. BOB was barely over .500 for his 5 years in Houston, and he had a lot of high draft picks, there was a lot of talent on that team.

I like BOB, he is a good guy, and if he can tone things down, he might be a great head coach if given a second chance. Definitely not Jerod Mayo type of personality which I prefer. BB is demanding and gruff, but not intense like BOB.

This is a take that lacks context.

The three 9-7 records, starting QBs were Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer and Brock Osweiler. Won the division those last two seasons, had a down year in 2017, drafted Deshawn Watson, went 11-5, and 10-6 the next two season.

Also, the only top 10 pick O'Brien ever had in Houston was 2014, when they got Jadaveon Clowney. Watson was pick 12. Those were the only "a lot of high draft picks" you could say he ever had there.

You can fairly criticize O'Brien as a HC and GM, but you don't have to invent facts to support it.
