I'm afraid Bowles is a Rooney Rule pretend candidate, and perhaps looked as really as a DC candidate.
Malzahn and Franklin would be typically ridiculous hires, just like the last 2 they hired, for different reasons.
Stoops is interesting, but I think he never leaves OU.
I hope I am wrong, but McDaniels looks like he has this job if he wants it. And I can't imagine he doesnt want it.

McDaniels wouldn't have full control. One of the things BB said is necessary (stable management as well) but you're likely to be right.
