Patriots @ Lions

I pulled a hammy jumping to a conclusion that Ras-I might actually play in a game this season.

we all know what Amendola can do...

so im pretty excited to see a half where bradys targets are pretty much all rookies....last game, brady was locked in on amendola so im interested to see them get more targets and see how they do..

With Danny OUT, you know who this puts IN.
"Justin" Edelperson!
2012 redux, but instead of replacing W3, Edes plays in DA's place.
Rookies on the outside, Edelperson in the slot.
Maybe some Boyce in there too as well as outside.

if that's the case, let Mallett play the 1st quarter and then put Tebow in til the end of the 4th quarter. Let the Lions have their punching bag and their fans their satisfaction seeing the defense destroy a mock up of the Pats offense. There is no upside to a game like this played in a place like that other than multiple looks at players vying for back-up slots on the team. I'd pull the entire front seven on defense after the first series and all the starters on the O line after Mallett is done.

No sense putting our best players in a meat grinder over some meaningless exhibition contest.

For those looking to stream the game, the PFW in Progress boys claim that the preseason games are available to stream for free at the New England Patriots official website. I have not personally gone there and tracked down the link, but the streamed games are supposed to be there....

If I could Like this post twice, I would.

This meaningless exhibition has meaningful consequences for the health of TFB.
Bill should play Tebow in the 1st quarter, Mallett in 2 & 3, then Brady in the 4th, and that's only if
the punk Suh & his partners in crime are not playing.

and if I could like this post 10,000 times I would. I still have a real bad taste in my mouth from that exhibition game in 2011. Belichick got knifed in the back by that turd Schwartz, who ramped that bunch of pinheaded criminals and barely functional illiterates into a "break all the rules!!!" frenzy and played his 1's almost the entire game. I get that he thought he had to "do something" to get the fans to believe in his program but that doesn't change the fact that he used that game as a means to create hope..and as we all found out that season...totally false hope. To hell with him and his cretinous crew of scumbags. Let them beat the bejeezus out of the Chosen Bait and then choke on the hordes of outraged Teboners screaming for vengeance for beating their hero into a stain on the carpet of Ford Field.

With Amendola out, the Patriots will probably open up passing plays going three wide with Dobson at flanker, Thompkins at split-end, and Boyce in the slot.

I'm excited for this battle, as long as no one gets hurt.

It's 1:00 a.m. and I am LOLing at Joker's post. How sad is my life?

it's only sad if you're not ENJOYING it...:heh:

I agree.

Sacrifice Tebow to the Lions!

I don't understand why the Pats schedule preseason games with that neanderthal franchise, especially at THEIR place. It's a poor choice for the third preseason game in particular. Detroit cares more about making an occasional "statement" than building a winning team. And they play dirty.

The concern for Brady is a given, but at least he has a top-flight OL in front of him. If poor Mallett has to face Detroit's 1's for even a series behind the soon-to-be-unemployed line...yikes.

I never thought I'd see an all-rookie cast at WR for the Pats, even if it is preseason! Wow!

My top concern is no injuries for this game. Preseason are meaningless, let's just get through them, evaluate our guys and run our sets.

Preseason results don't carry over the regular season either. I've seen Pats teams struggle in preseason and go deep into playoffs, and dominate preseason and go 1 and done. So I don't put any stock into the results.

Just hoping to see continued improvement in the team overall.

That's why I suggest that Tebow be fed to the Lions in the 1st quarter; he is far better-suited
to run away from them.

The punk Suh vs Ryan Wendell (aka the OL's weak link) is a matchup I will not enjoy watching.
