Not too early to start predicting wins/losses next season!

I think Vrabel will lead this team to at least 8 wins in his first year.
Depending on the OL, DL, WR upgrades in FA, we could get to 10 Wins* with a relatively easy home schedule:
HOME - Bills, *Dolphins, *Jets, *Browns, *Falcons, *Giants, *Panthers, Steelers, *Raiders
AWAY - Bills, Dolphins, *Jets, Bengals, Bucs, *Saints, Ravens, *Titans

I think that Vrabel and Josh can lead the team well, no matter who else is hired and fired. And, yes, Cowden is needed as a Front Office Advisor (Vrabel's man at the front office table).

And if Rees leaves after one season with a .500 record with things heading in the right direction, then Maye is looking at 3 OC in 3 years. Rees isn’t staying long if he’s already interviewing for head coaching positions.
Vrabel and Rees are Close, I would expect Vrabel won’t hire him without a commit that he won’t leave for 2-3 years, if he doesn’t get that he doesn’t hire him as OC.

Players play, the roster sucks, but they are better than they were last night. Let’s see what they do with the staff and the 53.

Very exciting time tho.

lol ya … abdicate .. blame my parents for having a dyslexic troglodyte

And here I was all set to urinate on my default whipping boy, auto-incorrect.
Most of my favorite soft associates are unepentant knuckle dragging troglodytes

I think it’s one of Glaser, wolf or groh.

Bill certainly dug his own grave, but he definitely had an enemy in the offices. I always assumed it was Jonathan who was the one who worked that aspect, but you could be right.
Bill and Jonathan's relationship deteriorated over the last few years. It could be him.

At the start of the year. Glaser was promoted to Exec VP of Football Business and Administration.

She has influence

Bruschi and Vrabel are tight since their playing days, I am sure Bruschi knows plenty.

I am a MEGA fan of this hire, I would have been open to Johnson but Vrabel was my top choice. Loved the guy as a player but also as a coach, I was honestly jealous of the Titans when he was having success there and it seems crazy that he somehow has landed here.

I’m looking forward to Vrabel fixing up the front office, coaching staff, and culture. I actually do think the Patriots have good scouts but don’t have the best folks steering the ship. I don’t think it will take a lot to get that resolved. Better folks at the top and just more folks in general (more analytics, etc).
Agree 100%! Who do you anticipate Vrabel brings on as OC? ( Josh) and DC?? Any inkling?

So, anyone here feel close to this level of excitement and anticipation for a great season when Mayo was announced as HC last year?

Year too late. But I'm good with it.

You talked about Maye, who was a no brainer. Anyone wouldve picked Maye there.

He failed in later rounds

I’m done with this ********. Half this forum didn’t want him, and you would have **** all over him had Maye failed. You excuse Belichick for years of failed drafts, but you give Wolf six months to turn the bag of **** he left them into a good team.

When it does -- and it will -- we'll await your mea culpa.

While I have warmed up to him more than before, I will be the first to say: I can't wait to eat crow should all the hype be deserved and he does well. I want that more than to affirm my gut.

Wolf has been GM for less than a year. And while I’m sure you never noticed, because you weren’t actually paying attention, NONE of the LT’s drafted after the first round contributed significantly this season. So they must be busts. As well as the 90% of OL drafted after the first round, all of them must be busts. And the two everyone wanted, Sulamanaia and Paul ended up 3rd and 2nd string respectively, so they must be busts.
I'm only acknowledging you one more time since you already think you know me.

He's been on the Patriots payroll for 4 years.

Regarding the OTs that's not true. Patrick Paul was solid for Miami.

Dominik Puni has been outstanding in SF.

Rosengarten was another solid pick.

Kingsley and Kiran were expected to be long-term projects.

Consider yourself blocked from here on out.

Vrabel was a hot commodity and had MANY teams interested. Maybe Vrabel put pressure on Kraft to get this done quickly if he wanted to hire him, especially after the fiasco last year.

Waiting on an in person interview with Johnson would have been super risky as it might have pushed Vrabel into a hire with another team.

I think Kraft nailed this one.
Plus
We have to put together a coaching staff and personnel staff
Better to be first in line than to be locked out

I do believe Wolf, that we shouldn't be throwing out the '24 draft as a bust, or the FA group as junk.
DRAFT -
Maye, Robinson, Milton - look like definite hits (Milton could even be traded for higher pick)
Polk, Bell, Wallace, Baker - truly had a redshirt year. It was a disaster of a team, with first-timers everywhere.
But they showed they have talent, just need better coaching/system to spark the usage & confidence.

FA's -
Brissett, Hooper, Gibson, Watts, Hawkins - worked out (Watts got hurt, but looked good as DT we needed)
Osborn, Leverett, Okarafor, Takitaki - some contribution, some disaster
The biggest success was the re-signed Pats: Onwenu, Henry, Bourne, Jennings - needed them.
and the trade of Judon.
