After his synthetic marijuana incident he was pretty much done here so with regards to the pats I agree. For the cards that contract is definitely worth it. Even if he drops back to his usual 11-12 sack a season average and adequate in run d Arizona can get out of the deal at 3 years 51 mil. His production combined with playing one of higher $$$ spots on D make this a good contract for both player and team.

I disagree.
I think he is a good player but sacks from an edge player are severely overrated.
I think he was a better fit here than in Arizona but he gets more stars there.
“Getting out of the deal for 51 mill in 3 years” is an odd goal.

Slater and Patterson are not quality dept WR's by any stretch of the imagination...color me worried.

Slater is what he is the best gunner in the league, but he counts as a WR when we consider the game day 45 or the initial 53 man roster despite what others here keep going out of their way to tell me, LOL.

Patterson is gonna surprise, IMO. Not saying he'll be a pro bowler WR or anything...but I think he's gonna exceed 70 targets this year coupled with some end around and gadget plays on offense.

He will be an improvement over cooks when it comes to end around plays.

I like Patterson too. I'm cautiously optimistic believing he'll have a significant role in the "gadget offense".

I don't think he'll see 40 snaps on offense regularly here.

I wish he was more of a deep threat but it is what it is.

Seems B.B. struggles to find maximum value in trades. He traded currently the highest paid player in nfl history to 49ers for only a mid second round pick...when their were high first round offers from the browns on the table.

NG if you keep rehashing that me and you are going to have to hash it out.

Ha ha I think the other Team will see it coming. Brady love WR's who can run more than two routes. And that might be a stretch for Patterson.

If they run the same play sure.

He can be Effective on the wr screen. I’m sure we will find ways to get him open.

Kenny Britt and/or Phillip Dorsett MUST step up.
No more excuses about getting acclimated to the system.

No I think you have unreasonable expectations.
No way you get more for Jones in a contract year.
The browns offers were at the draft and it was worthwhile to keep jag as long as possible on the event your 40 year old QBs gets injured.
If the price of insurance for that on a SB caliber team is getting a 2nd instead of a first it’s a fair price.
In this case trading when your value is low was wise because the insurance it provided was worth it.

Wouldn’t it have been the 4th overall pick?

Matthew “AC” Slater is about to take over. He still needs to double his career total in receptions to match Brady.

We got a first rounder for a 30 year old Richard Seymour. Jones at 25 coming off a 13 sack season and pro bowl berth should have warranted a higher return.

Different times, different CBAs, different financial philosophies around the league about 10 years ago. And most importantly completely different players. Seymour was a way more complete player than Jones will ever be. It is like comparing one dimensional players like Kelce to multi faceted talent like Gronk. Yeah, the one thing they do well is pretty good but everything else is nothing to write about.
