With all the clamoring to move up in this draft, let's review the slotting and additional picks BB has created compared to the 2010 AFC playoff teams. As you will see, BB has created multiple advantages against the elite AFC teams in terms of volume picks and slotting per round. The Patriots will pick ahead of each team every round.
3 Round comparison

Patriots
17.......28..... 33................60.. .....74..........92

Jets
.............30.. .................................................94

Steelers
...............31. .....................63. ..........................95

Colts
.....22........... ........53.............. ............87

Ravens
.......26......... ..............58........ ...............90

Chiefs
...21............ ............55........... .........86

Bottom line, I can't get too worked up if the Jags get Watts or Kerrigan, or if the perennial losers of the league get the blue chippers. That doesn't matter. BB has created multiple advantages in this draft ahead of their true competition.
You can also see why picks 28, 60, and 92....all original Patriots picks.. will most likely be the trading chips. Even if he trades away any/all of these 3 picks, BB still maintains a slotting advantage each round.

Nice work there Borg. BB as always remains a master at the draft. Now his selections can be hit and miss. Because well everyone is human when it comes to the selection of draft prospects. But his manipulation of the draft is just at another level compared to other GMs in the NFL. He's really one of the best there is at obtaining value with picks.
