So you wouldn’t carry out your assignment that the guy Mike Vrabel chose to give it to you because he’s fat?
How does that help you as a player?
Did this happen to Rex Ryan, Buddy Ryan, Bill Parcells, Romeo Crennell, etc, etc?
One flaw in your logic: Vrabel’s not fat

Didn’t say he was, I said he chose the fat guy and entrusted him with the responsibility.

I will try to clarify for you: “It would be difficult (did not say would not) for me (not a current New England Patriot) to take direction from someone who appears to have no discipline.”

I did not say it would help anyone.

I don’t know, but it might have if they almost died from their obesity and then came back months later, just as obese.

There's more than just assignment giving in coaching, even for pro's. We forget easily these are still very young people for the most part. The human brain isn't even fully formed until the mid 20's.

Fair enough, but I would assume the man has some discipline to get to the level he has, even if it does not include dieting.

So would we agree that for players on the New England Patriots, your difficulty in taking direction from a fat man would not apply?

This may be nitpicking on my part but none of the folks you mentioned were ever unable to do their jobs because of lack of self care.

In Williams' case it is having a rather visible impact with the guy being forced to miss numerous team activities for months. And then he shows up looking as bad as ever and collapses on the field a mere week after his return.

So it's not about being "fat," I see it more as resenting that his lack of self care hurts the team.

Is this guy kidding? Extra precaution would have been hydrating in the first place, you know, one of the most important components of our health. Bring a water bottle and take care of yourself you fat ****
I hope he is ok, but I'm amazed that he suffered with dehydration. All it takes is drink water, wear a hat, get in shade when you can. But I think calling him a "fat ****" doesn't help

This is inexcusable, water or gatorade is available on the field..
If his issue is diabetes they can find alternatives...
Without regard they warn the players but their DC goes down due to dehydration??
None of this is complicated take care of yourself...

It would be difficult for me to take direction from someone who appears to have no self discipline. The fact that he hasn’t dropped thirty lbs the past couple months after that major health scare is mind boggling. He’s a heart attack waiting to happen.
This is what happens when you judge by appearances.

I’d take having Mike McCarthy’s gut to have his SB ring. Parcells also.

For some, most don't get there until they need a walker, some help.

The Patriots won 3 Super Bowls with male models Charlie Weiss and Romeo Crennel.

They were both big guys but williams... his belly is really distended in the pic ian posted.

Not going to be an online doctor but he must be pushing 300 lbs. My heaviest at 5'9" was 240 during covid and I was much smaller than him. Very concerning this happened after he had time off. Nfl coaching is not healthy and I worry he'll be replaced again.

There are some heart medications which cause dehydration. That might be what contributed to his issue yesterday

Yes- He should be aware of that and have fluids regularly but before we jump to conclusions we should take that into account.

Yeah, we've no idea what's going on, and won't until he starts showing up to the press and on game days. If he's fully engaged and completely in charge, then we'll know it is a manageable, and hopefully reversible, condition.

Any of you guys who have been to practice had an eye on him?

The worst case is that he'll never be fully back at work and they are either testing that, or just carrying him for a while, to provide time to figure out what to do about it. It could be tangled up in employment law and HIPPA and NFL coaches contracts, etc. Who knows?

I'm pretty sure he's been full go and hopefully this is just him not having enough water and not more of his medical problems whatever they were.

Not sure citing a SB win makes the case for his health hampering the team. Certainly seems he was able to do his job.
Yes he was still good at what he was doing. By all reports so is Williams (obviously not Superbowl good yet but still pretty good).

Can't get more unable to do something than quitting and taking years off. After bypass he felt healthy and able enough again.
