Patriots currently projected to finish last in AFC East in 2023 by Vegas

Comments:

1.) Vegas isn't in the business of being right/wrong. They are just lining both ends of all bets with winners and losers....and raking 2% off the top. The odds currently reflect the betting public putting more money on the Bills, Fish, and Jete than the Patriots...so the pay out is better for the Patriots' bets.

2.) The pay out is pretty good...I am seeing +900 to win the division. I might put down $250 on that.... NFL football man...ANYTHING can happen....

Why is one hypothetical a "no way no how" and the other a "we'll never know"?
Brady doesn't play defense, the Raiders won 6 games, a few more games due to Brady doesn't even get them in the playoffs. Even if they get in the playoffs, that defense would automatically get them bounced in the first round.
How about this then... Who's the greatest quarterback of all time? Then give me a quick blurb on why. TY.
C'mon... it doesn't matter if Brady is the greatest of all-time, because he is. The gap between him and Peyton or Brees or Ben isn't the difference between 7 rings versus 2 or 1.

The bigger difference was the quality of teams in totality. Willie McGinest was chasing Peyton Manning down and giving him fits, Ty Law was baiting him into throwing INT's... Brady doesn't play defense, and offense is only one phase in a game with three.

Yes, it does. 10 Super Bowl appearances, 7 Super Bowl titles, 6 Super Bowl game-winning dives, and 5 Super Bowl MVPs. Brady has more SB MVPs and SB game-winning drives than any other QB has rings. He's a better QB than all of those other guys. Being better gives his team(s) a better chance of winning... that's why Brady's the winningest QB in the history of the NFL (by a very wide margin). You underrate his impact and value. You do the same for all elite quarterbacks. But alas, this is where we know we differ.

In every comeback it was the entire team that was clutch, whether we're talking 3-28 against the Falcons in the Super Bowl... or Wiggins and JR Redmond being clutch in the snow bowl then again the Super Bowl in 2001. The team was clutch. They were well prepared, well conditioned and smarter than the opponent.

You underestimate the impact of team. Tom didn't change a damn thing in 2002 when the team was bad, he got Arians fired last season and they won 8 games. It takes a team to win.

You keep saying look at the QB's in the playoffs every year... look at the defenses in the playoffs every year, look at the O-Lines, look at the special teams. The best teams make it to the end, you can almost predict who it will be based off point differential.

No bad team in history has ever won a championship, no matter how great the QB was. Tom put up the single greatest performance in Super Bowl history in 2017... and his team lost. It wasn't his fault, there was nothing else he could have done. He lost because Philly was the better team.

100% true. There is not like some supercomputer brain calculated these odds, it's just an opinion poll with people voting with their money.

On being last in the division, why not lean into it? We seem to be trying to build a core set of players without pushing our chips onto the table this season. Next year it seems we'll have a lot of cap space. Why not make this a pure developmental year and not worry about the record? Figure out if Mac and/or Bailey have what it takes, don't be afraid to lose more than you win, get some good draft picks out of it.

On Brady, to paraphrase Rick Pitino, Tom Brady ain't walkin' through that door. He's now about as relevant as you and I are. Stop living in the past.

oh wonderful... here we go again.... another rebuilding, uh I mean "developmental" year....

Newsflash: It is not living in the past to lament the fact that we could very easily be looking at a 4th place finish in the AFC East this year. We were only 1 game above last place last year and that team has sure improved more than we have.

Not out of the question we finish 4th with a much better team than we had last year.

I still want to win the Superbowl....but yeah...go big or go home this season...and see what happens...
