The key additions here -

TE Coach: Bob Bickell
WR Coach: Tyler Hughes

Tyler Hughes colors me curious... Rome Odunze/Michael Penix Jr connections? Feasible to draft both if you wanted with a trade down.

Tippett???

is that a son of Andre?

It is he played football at URI .. looks like an entry level position.
He had a cup of coffee with the Pats in '22, not sure what he did in the interim.

One of the things I am happy about is Mayo hiring more coaches. Belichick's staff from what we've read about was too small the past few seasons.

Because Bill didn't trust anyone. It's gonna show up in The Dynasty that Mangini eff'd him and he retreated to an even tighter circle. Whatever... that's over with. I am with you on this... more guys the merrier.

I agree, and not even just because it can help ease the load on a new coach and keep the perspectives fresh. But also because it makes it easier to create a coaching pipeline, so they can (hopefully) avoid situations like in 2022 when McDaniels left and there was no one they'd groomed to take over as OC. If Van Pelt is here for three years and has success, then leaves for something bigger, I want the next OC to have developed under him so the QB has some continuity.

if Troy Brown remains as a coach, I assume he will work with PR/KR specialists. I heard a rumor NFL may downplay or eliminate returns as a way to reduce player injuries.

What happens if the offensive game is terrible do you want that to continue? Of course you wouldn't. One season at a time, please.

Well, of course... but thinking something could fail is not a reason to just ignore planning ahead. If it fails it won't matter either way. It's more about creating a systemic pipeline as a philosophy, so that when you DO find the right combination, it's not a transient thing.

Lot of new faces. A lot of us are fixated on the QB position, but the most important part of this next season may actually be Mayo gaining experience and instilling a culture that both the coaching staff and players buy in to. Obviously, you want the QB who you believe can help lead the way of a winning culture.

I understand. With the Patriots, there are so many broken pieces it is hard to determine where to start. In the NFL, one usually starts at QB. Mac Jones should not be considered with the Patriots. If he were considered, you would have to develop a more potent running game strategy because of his weaknesses. In the long term, this strategy would set the team up for failure IMO.

They have added 17 coaches in the last 6 weeks !!! While it’s nice to see the size of the group increase, it will be really interesting to see how they work together. I am very optimistic at this point !!!
