Player Signing Patriots claimed Ngakoue off waiver

Maybe he'll be a Mark Anderson type of surprise for the remainder of the year

Hopefully an upgrade to wise. I feel like we needed one true impact edge and a better rotational guy to go with white and jennings. This could be a decent move if he becomes the rotational guy and we make a splash at a one true pass rushing threat next year ie reddick or sweat.

No I am not against claiming . The discarded folks from other teams are much better than our starters. And it's not 1 or 2. There have been 4-5 I believe since the off-season.

The number of waiver claims that we put is a direct indictment on front office and coaching .

I was joking

I want to do enough in free agency at OL and WR that we can afford to take the best DL in the draft. I think typically that's one of the better uses of a top 5 pick other than QB.

We ignored D in last year's draft and without Barmore the D has struggled. I don't want to only rely on Barmore coming back I want more and I think a young DL would be a huge boost to the whole D and would go farther than anything else to help this team out.

Its a great draft for DL and cb from the sounds of it. Mason graham would be tempting if teams go heavy on offense early. A force like him to go with barmore and white (and hopefully another good edge in fa) would solve tons of our defensive issues and cover the weaknesses.

Or if we want to do the stud wr early there should be good options at dl in the 30-40 range. Should be lots of interesting scarios for us, hopefully in fa we can land good players at ol/dl/edge/cb/wr allowing us to be flexible in the draft. The money is there

please go DL and OL.

Not that he's a bad player, but I don't really understand the love affair for Higgins around here.
He missed 5 games last year, has missed 4 already this year, and while stats are decent, having Chase blanketed certainly doesn't hurt.
Plus he's looking for good $.

I just don't think he's someone you throw hefty $ at, thinking he's going to be some sort of everyday stud.

McMillan showed promise when he first joined but I think he had injuries over a couple of seasons and maybe he has lost a step or two now ?

To be fair the obsession started before the 9 missed games.

I'd happily take him but I also prefer someone not playing with a guy like Chase getting all the attention.

He was injured a couple years in Miami also. He has never had a healthy season. Likely done/

The Bengals were one of just two teams to put in a claim on Ngakoue, the veteran who was just waived by Baltimore. But New England had higher priority, so they didn't get him.

Would have preferred it if they has claimed Isaiah Williams.

Why would you waive your second leading tackler at the middle lb position, i don't get it
Mcmillan was leading in tackles due to his warm body. He is slow and can't shed blocks, and certainly can't cover.
Giles-Harris will take McM's spot - who seems to be more spry and punchy. (with more Takitaki worked in I bet)
And Yannick will try to fill the vacated production of Judon & Uche, subbing in for Jennings on pass rush downs.

Making Tackles constantly after the Sticks is padding one's stat lines. I like LB's who get Tackles for losses and stop the Offensive player before they pass the sticks.
