I have the iTunes 3 Games to Glory version. I find it generally to be very annoying.
The games themselves are editing using mainly close-up shots, so it's impossible to figure out what's going on on the field. The editing looks like it was done by someone who didn't know anything about football, or at least football strategy. Just closeups of Brady throwing, then closeups of the receiver catching or running. There is virtually no strategic analysis or discussion at all, except the very brief Belichick Breakdown of a few plays in the Extras.
(Even where the video focuses on human interest, they do a terrible job generally. For instance, they show Rowe pulling the man off the pile in the Texans game, but not Belichick snapping at him afterward.)
This kind of myopic editing is particularly hurtful to the Patriots, who build their offense around brilliant and cohesive plays using all their players. It turns the game into a meaningless mishmash of one-on-one or one-on-two matchups. There were so many extraordinary plays, just in SB LI, that you can't tell from the video edit. For example, you cannot see the perfect synchronization of the Hogan pass right in the Q4 final drive, nor the careful Amendola repositioning, nor Hightower's sneaking behind the line before his sack. It's just these closeup cuts that destroy all the timing and the strategy and the positioning.
It's true that all of us now are familiar with the broadcast edits as well as highlight clips of the key plays. But I was hoping that this video would be archival, something I could look at to years down the line to get a feel for the game. But it's nearly useless as that.
There are some good mic'd up style audio clips and a few extras worth watching, but few and far between.
