Patriots and Marshall have mutual interest

So to you, Marshall is a bigger need at WR than Nick Mangold at Center?

That's funny, throughout the playoffs, I and most others saw our WR corps as such an area of strength that the Patriots were ok with going with just 4, while opposing teams were all moving their DL personnel to hover over our center.

.
never said Marshall was a need but Bennet wasnt a need last year either, adding to the offense is a good thing and if Marshall is willing to do it why would the Pats say no? And you obviously stopped watching the playoffs after the Houston game

I dont ever believe those stats but Ankle injuries are serious for anyone, especially Offensive lineman. Plus his run blocking has been bad for several seasons now and his pass blocking has only gotten worse imo. Could he be a marginal upgrade over Andrews? Sure, but I don't think it will matter because I think he wants to go somewhere where the Center job is his to lose.

I have no idea where you are getting your information but Mangold is one of the few bright spots on that team, I would take him in a heartbeat.

Well we arent asking Marshall to stay for 5 years, we are entertaining the idea of him coming in at all. A lot of people said Moss was too much of a headcase and would work out in NE, he managed to have a 23 TD season.

Now you are using Moss as an analogy????

Moss was 30 years old when the Pats got him. He was 33 when they dumped him.

Marshall is 33 this month.

The 2006 Patriots WR badly needed a personnel upgrade. This group doesn't.

How many more diagrams do you need?

.

Your exact words: "....and just not very effective the year before"

Ivan just pointed out to you that he has given up just one sack in the past 33 games. Simple math shows that includes 2015.

Please define "not very effective" for a center.

.
yeah, he wasnt very good in 2015. His run blocking is terrible and if we are going with no sacks allowed, David Andrews didnt allow one during the regular season this year.

Edit: Or postseason apparently

and im saying there is more to center play than Sacks allowed, Andrews allowed 1.5 in the last 30 games played, including none in the regular season.

A 2nd TE was a need. And is a need again this year.

im just saying that the Patriots shouldn't say no to Marshall just because you dont like him. Personally I dont see Marshall as a guy who will want to take a significant pay cut to play for the pats but if the money makes sense and hes interested why would adding him be a bad thing?

See what Floyd has to offer. He wants to be a Patriot. Floyd can go vertical, fairly fast, and a bit tall.

He probably does not mind being a #2/3/4 or 5th receiver.

Spend the $$$ difference on more important players (ala, Donta, Bennett, etc...)

Translation for that sentence needed.

With the logic some people are using AJ derby was perfectly fine. Personally I dont care if marshall signs here or not, I dont view it as a huge need but I would think adding him wold make the team better.

Once again, where are you getting your information because I have never once heard that Mangolds run blocking was poor.

Wow.

So you are basing your argument on the logic of "some people".

Hmmmmm.......sounds vaguely familiar, but I'm not going there.

In the meantime, I won't base my opinons on the opinions of "some people". I'll roll with Belichick and Caserio's judgement in getting Martellus Bennett last year as the 2nd TE as showing conclusively that that was a need. And I'd be happy to apologize right here in this thread if they they do the same about Brandon Marshall being added to the current WR corps.

Why do we keep posting Trollin Volin tweets?

Someone should tweet Trollin Volin and ask him if he investigated the connection between Bob Kraft and Kraft foods yet.

Well then maybe you should read more about him before declaring hes an upgrade over Andrews. This is from 2014 Jets offensive line: from best to worst
Its also very selective to say that he hasnt allowed a sack in his last 33 games, for one because that stat is probably BS as Andrews one shows and because he is credited with 2.5 in his last 38.

Absolutely not ! I have never rooted against a pats player ever but there is always a first , the thought of Marshall in a Pats uniform makes me sick ! He had said too many negative things out the Patriots in the past for me to ever forgive him !

Okay you and the bandwagon need to chill, but yeah that was my whole point. I dont think they will bring in Marshall because I dont think the money will work for him but I dont turn up my nose at the very idea.

Marshall skill set would be great here. He is a big strong guy who can take short passes and get big rac. He can beat press coverage.
But Marshall the man does not fit in
