Path cleared for Jimmy's return? [SF trades for #3 pick]

Draft BPA at 15. Be prepared to win on defense & running the ball. Meanwhile, Jimmy G strikes down any trade that isn’t to the pats.

The 49ers lose 24 million in cap space & an additional asset in the meantime. This game of cat & mouse is going to be fun lmao.

Crazy trade by SF. Giving up that much valuable draft capital this year and the next few years seems to indicate they are in a win now mode. If they draft a QB, by the time he's ready for a playoff run Lynch may be long gone.

This is interesting and suggests the 49ers aren’t locked in on a specific QB.

This is nothing more than crazy speculation, but what if their target is Lawrence all along. Too far down to go straight to 1, but get into the top 5, trade Jimmy G for enough capital to get you from the top 5 to 1 overall and the Jags are still in play to get a good QB (Fields?).

Jags front office should be immediately fired if they make that move

Jimmy G is massively overrated here.

Personally I would rather move on from him.
Same. I get he’s the one that got away, but we know what he is now. He’s injury prone and he only succeeds when his coach is constantly covering for him and he does not excel in big moments. He’s been in the league 7 years. That’s half a career for an average QB. He isn’t going to change or hit some watershed moment.

Jimmy G may nix a trade here because he knows he'll probably need to take a pay cut.

I don’t know... it would be like, five-plus future 1sts plus you still get to have Fields or Lance.... worth thinking about.

Going to 5 would have been risky to do ahead of the draft - not out of the question that QBs go 1-4

Which is why its interesting they considered going to 5.

I assume NE would extend him and give him around as much as his current ‘21 salary as a signing bonus. So he wouldn’t really lose any money that would be paid to him this year. Next year, maybe, but we all know he’s never gonna sniff next year’s money.

I wonder if SF is one of the "four teams" interested in Harry. I'd do a 2nd + Harry for Garoppolo. Maybe the 2022 first and Harry.
SF loved Harry pre-draft. Him & Deebo were WR1/2 on their board.

Bill may be infatuated with Jimmy but Kyle walked Jimmy down the alter. Held his hand the whole way. Caught him as he tripped over himself and Jimmy still F'd up the SB that was given to them.

I've loved Jimmy for years. QB2 for me coming out but I knew back then he needed a ton of help & even with a loaded roster I don't think he could get us farther then Cam. Plus Cam's deal. No way I'm overpaying for Jimmy.

If he's there for the taken, sure but a first round pick for Jimmy? This is Mac Jones all over again. These guys need so much in order for things to really work out and again as we seen with Jimmy. He couldn't capitalize when asked to make big time NFL passes. I'm not saying that he won't ever get it done but we know what type of player he is and its not a 1st round pick type or top 50 pick type imo.

I realize it’s an overpay, absolutely.
