I don't know exactly how true that is. In particular, he took 9 sacks in the three games after Campbell's injury (NYG/BUF/BAL), versus 3 in the 3 previous games (TB/JEST/CIN).
Yeah he’s wrong.

Can we give it up to OT Thayer Mumford he's been really good as the extra Blocker. Big Boy Too: Marrone have another one to work with. Mumford could be that swing Tackle that replaces V-Lowe.

what I am noticing is how deep a drop Maye often takes, which makes his OT's jobs harder, but Maye is now feeling that outside pressure, and climbing the pocket, while still making accurate throws. earlier in the season, when Maye felt that edge pressure, he would run, rather than step up.

Maye scrambling out of bounds behind the los (sack) is not on his OL men. Maye also taking a deeper drop than 10-11 yards is also not on his OL men. both are on Maye.

from my vantage point, Maye has improved greatly in both areas.

I agree. the past 2-3 games, Mumford has been on the field for a lot of positive plays
I would love to see a FB added in the offseason that offers more than Westover.
interested to see if Lampke is given another shot

Brock Lampe should his Blocking is off the charts.

On the first play of yesterday's game they had Mumford to the left of Campbell. For a second I thought they moved Campbell to LG.

Wut!!

I think the bigger issue was Drake holding the ball too long, running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage and not throwing it away.

I said this earlier in the season. You can’t be the best team in the NFL at passing deep and also poor at pass blocking. Rookies and young QB’s take unnecessary sacks.

Average athlete, not strong, couldn’t stay healthy for one offseason… binkie blindness.

Draft or find someone….

Agree. I thought he bailed a few times too quickly. Regressed a little, hopefully for just that one game.

…….
Thought it was interesting to hear the announcers comments today when Stevenson got a TD catch running a “sluggo” route, talking about how he has been running routes that are normally run by WRs. Last week I thought his TD catch against the Jetes looked like that was what he was doing, with the DE trying to cover him. ……….

A lot of the improvement was Drake Maye learning to get the ball out quicker, throw the ball away and not run out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. He was taking a lot of unnecessary sacks like young QB’s do.
……………

ALSO on Drake DRAKE MAYE Maye, is his increased football smarts or knowledge of the system; he is calling audibles and shifts based on what he sees from the D.

RHAM in his press conference said Drake saw he had a DE lined up against him and audibled him to that route.

One of those things that you can’t see necessarily on film, particularly if you don’t know what the original play call was. But hat gets him a quick option / knowing where the ball is going, makes him quicker.

The offense overall is just getting smarter. It was pointed out how damn well they executed the flea flicker. That requires a play call, then a check from responsible players to continue with the play, and the misdirect/faking post-snap.

McDaniels is doing the McDaniels thing: giving the offense more and more responsibility each week. Filling their bucket more and more.

The task of the OL is similar and Marrone has handled it very well. The offense, in every single respect, has improved, week over week. Continual improvement. McDaniels and Marrone have put on a masterclass this season in young talent development. It's been awesome.

I think what you CAN see is the dude make a plays using every inch of the field and there has to be a lot of intelligence involved because there aren’t knock dead weapons doing it for him

Drake is improving at a high rate… we should be very happy as fans.

No he hasn't. The 4th/1 run by Henderson late in the 2nd quarter that was blown-up? Two people, and two people Only, are to blame for this particular ****up: Bennie New Ex-tension Brown & Mister Mumpferd. Dude's a practice squad-level JAG.

Still no love for Lowe? He’s been playing LT over Munford.

So, FIFY.
