Wes Welker has caught 61 of 87 targets (70%)
Aaron Dobson has caught 31 of 60 targets (52%)
There's a reason for complaining about Dobson's drops and not Welker's. You'd have to be blind not to see it. And Dobson's dropped plenty in the past month, but many of them haven't been classified as drops.
Dobson didn't drop 29 passes or 48% of the passes in his direction. Also, Welker doesn't run deep sideline routes very often. Also, Welker isn't a rookie.
Right now, is probably one of the top rookie WRs in the league. His drop rate has dropped exponentially since his first few games. In fact, Gronk may have dropped more passes since he has been back than Dobson over the same timeframe.
Dobson's drop rate over the past month is probably better than Gronk, Amendola, Thompkins, and Edelman who all have dropped their share of passes. You and others are overblowing it. Especially since Dobson is the guy who runs the routes that typically have the lowest success rate.
People are unbelievable that they want to dump on a guy who so far has been a very good pick for the Pats and starting to emerge as a legitimate threat for Brady. Why? I still think it is because he ain't Welker and no WR can get any credit on this team because without Wes the offense sucks and will never be any good.
