Talent where? O, D, ST, Coaching? Overall?
Offensive line, they have Kolton and Meredith… beyond that they have one talented rookie who hasn’t broke into the starting roster yet. They have Bowers and Jeanty… otherwise the weapons are blah.

Defensively they have Crosby, Booker and Chinn, otherwise it’s pretty weak.

The Patriots were disjointed, they didn’t execute, Drake missed a lot of open receivers high or behind, ten penalties. The Patriots were more talented, they just didn’t execute.

Hmm, Maye dropped back to pass over 50 times. We scored 13 points. For me, if the OVERALL passing game were better, the result would have been lots more points.

Agreed. I just want to see progress. I just don't think any expectations of possible playoffs helps anyone at this point.
Just win a damn game!!!!!

Andy Dalton was better than Trent Dilfer, better than some other guys that won rings. His teams weren’t good enough, and it’s a team sport.

Neither Carson Wentz or Nick Foles were good enough to sustain a starting position at QB. Dalton was good not great for a long time and on some terrible Bengals teams. They didn’t fail to win a ring because of Dalton.

Those guys rode hot streaks to get their SB wins whereas Dalton had five consecutive bites of the apple and never made it out of the divisional round. Some times it was other people letting him down, but his overall post-season passer rating was 57.8 with just one TD against six interceptions.

The context was that Maye might be good but not great and IMO Dalton is a good representative of being that. Those six interceptions didn't throw themselves. My take is that he pressed too hard, didn't take what he was being given, expected too much because he was high on his own supply. Those are signs of a good but not great QB.

I guess we'll never know what would happen if Dalton had better leadership than Marvin Lewis. Maybe some of those traits could have been coached out of him. Maybe not. Maybe Maye will be the next Dalton. Maybe he won't be as good. Maybe he'll be better. We don't know at this point in time.

There’s no such thing as hot streaks… in 2017 Carson Wentz was the Vegas front runner for MVP before he got injured. Enter Nick Foles who picked up where Wentz left off and played at an MVP level. Both of these guys are very average starters.

They didn’t enjoy a hot streak… they had the best offensive line in the entire NFL that season, a powerful run game, good veteran weapons, Frank Reich calling plays and a great defense.

Teams win super bowls, not QB’s…
