I would expect any UDFA to make it to the Practice Squad. Actually, I would expect any 5C or later pick (for any team) would make it to the respective team's Practice Squad.
Edleman provides no "emergency flexibility". If Brady is injured or not ready, O'Connell would be expected to run our offense, and throw to Moss, Welker, Galloway, Faulk and Watson and hand off to Taylor, Morris, Maroney and Faulk. Unless Edleman is a better receiver than Lewis, he is not making the team as a receiver. He does have a long-shot chance as a kick returner, but I don't expect him to be sufficiently better than Maroney to justify a roster spot for that purpose.
Just BTW, Slater was our top gunner. I think he played on all the special teams units.

Nice list.
I completely agree about the OLs, though I hope Vollmer will show starting potential sooner rather than later. I've always liked Kaczur as a swing OT more than as a starting RT - he's adequate, but Vollmer has the potential to be dominant. Kaczur will never be dominant. I also agree with your 3 TE's - I think that Thomas draws the short stick. I think he and Smith will fight it out for the #3 spot, but I see Smith having more upside and being a better blocker and more complete TE. I wonder whether me might be able to get anything from him in a trade, vs. a straight cut.
I also agree about 25 players on offense, leaving 13 spots for QB, WR and RB. I'm not sure how those will get divided up. There's a lot of talent for those 13 spots. 2 QBs makes me nervous, but we've done it before. Is Gut still PS eligible, and do we think he would make it through to the PS? Not sure if Hoyer would make it through either? I don't see Edelman as a QB option, though if he makes it as a WR/STer than it gives us a little bit of emergency flexibility (not that I'd want to see us ever exercise it).
I think that BB will let Aiken/Slater/Ventrone/Green-Ellis/Edelman battle it out in TC for 3 roster spots. The first 4 have a year of roster experience behind them, but Edelman brings nice versatility and athleticism. I could see him beating out Slater, but we won't know for 4 more months.
