Bad drafting is undefeated in destroying dynasties, or in the Ravens case, just staying competitive. They really wasted Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Suggs, Adalius Thomas, Bart Scott, Ed Hartwell and Ngata. Those guys were constantly in purgatory because the "great" Ozzy Newsome didn't know how to draft skill players on offense. Todd Heap, Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Lamar Jackson and I guess Joe Flacco were about it during his tenure.

They were really lucky as hell to win the 2 Super Bowls they did. Healthy Rams team embarrass them in 2000 and Pats get past them with a healthy Gronk.

I’ve got some suggestions, but probably would result land me in board jail

What I hate the most about them is that by some schools of thought, I should at least like the Ravens.

My favorite color is purple, and one of my favorite authors and the only poet I can enjoy is Poe. The Ravens should be a fun team for me to get behind if I catch a game of theirs.

Too bad about publicly supporting someone who AT THE VERY LEAST has let two murders go unsolved and unpunished through their direct actions. If they ever smelt that piece of human garbage's statue down, that'd be a great first step towards reestablishing SOME respectability.

RLALCUTM. (Ray Lewis At Least Covered Up Two Murders) But probably RLKAG.

Yup, he is part of the issue.

Make him a passer and he fails. It is easier said than done, but playoff teams can usually do it and he looks like an idiot. His main attribute is his superior athleticism, once that goes, he is nothing.

To succeed, like any other QB, he needs a system build around his strengths. Their high school offense won't cut it with another QB and won't work once he regresses physically (which might already be happening). So either they hope he can transform his game or they accept that they will be pretenders and never true contenders.
In many of the Ravens recent seasons, Lamar was their # 1 rusher.

Ive never understood why you would want your Franchise QB to be subjected to that punishment. Also, IMO, a QB like Lamar struggles with just throwing the ball away and punting. He is a run first QB and passing is secondary.

I think the reason the Ratbirds, and a lot of other AFC teams, had problems winning a SB was because of the Pats.

I admit I know very little about the Ravens, But from what I hear they need a new coach. It's not a talent level issue, It's a utilization of that talent. For example when they lost to us they just seem to completely give up on running Derrick Henry even though he was killing us For like the entire fourth quarter or something.

Now of course I and every other same person hates John Harbaugh, but if I actually cared about the success of that god awful ****ty franchise That's what I would do.

I have enjoyed the continuing demise of that franchise, from the consistent one and done in the playoffs to now not making the playoffs. That franchise broke Cleveland’s heart with their chasing the money.

Lamar Jackson is the problem.
Probably maybe he is, Cousins,
I think selling Jackson to perhaps the Cards or the Jets would bring a hefty Draft bag for the Ravens. The Jets have the Draft capital in the first round maybe with the Ravens third rounder back. Jets would have a marquis player who is only 28. The Jets two first round picks for Jackson? As a Pats fan that would be scarry but the trade makes sense to both parties. PR wise, the Jets fans would go nuts. Now if I am the Ravens I go after Kirk Cousins (mo pun on this). Cousins still has two years left on his contract and a new Falcons could will try to hide the not so good, Penix Draft choice.

This gives the Ravens a couple of years to develop a yong QB and Cousins goes to a better playoff cajber Team. (missed FG)

I don't think Jackson wanted to play for Harbaugh any more. He can still get a proven vet and have top picks to help on their old Defense.

For a Falcons new coach and GM regime, getting rid of the Cousins salary for what has been portrayed as a backup QB,makes sense.Maybe Mac Jones there? He'd have weapons and a great RB.

DW Toys

OK. OK, I have a nice ham and cheese quiche for breakfast, A glass of cranberry/grape jjuice and a tall coffee.

I like them right where they are which is missing the playoffs and then the following year having great regular seasons with LJ, Harbaugh, and the team once again pooping their collective pants in the playoffs.

Exactly. They need a fresh start. Not sure what their draft pick situation looks like.

Why is this a thread? Who cares? Wrong forum?

Wrong forum, I don’t think so? It’s finally time we witness the downfall of another organization that we’ve rivaled with.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying every aspect of this organization constantly coming up short.

I dunno, it's a tough decision... it's just so hard to ignore his utter collapse in the post-season. It isn't even really teamwide collapses, with the defense typically keeping the scoring low. Lamar has a hard time scoring more than 20 in any big game he's in, it seems.

Lamar is an excellent pass-first, in the packet QB. As with Maye, is he also a serious threat to run the ball. He is forced to run more that he should because of his lack of enough other options.

The primary issue is for BAL to get better support in his receiver options. Maye has 10 receiver options (6 WR's, 2 TE's and 2 RB's) and we think that we need a couple of more: #3 RB, 3rd TE, and FB. How many does Lamar have? He does have Andrews, Flowers and Bateman; but he needs more.

As far as free agency and cap resources, they don't have any serious issues other than their need to re-sign Lauderman. They have $75M additional cap space available by restructuring 4 top players.

Last thing I think of when I hear excellent pass-first pocket QB is Lamar Jackson

I don't want a fresh start. I want 20 more years of medicocrity

Two SBs is still pretty good. 12 NFL teams never won a SB.
49ers are my most underachieving franchise in the last 15 years. They should've had multiple titles with the two teams they built from 2011-2013 and 2019-2023. Hard to believe they haven't won one title since 1994.

They only faced the Pats 4 times (2009, 2011, 2012, 2014). They went 2-2 in those games with one year winning the Super Bowl in 2012.

I don't think the Cowboys have won a SB since 1995 and they are on primetime every other week and have the best GM in football (just ask Jerry ).

I get that we hate the Ravens. I get that we think Lamar is an overrated choke artist.

But he’s a x2 MVP and a better QB than anyone the Ravens can easily get to play for them. The idea they would be better off with Mac Jones or Kurt Cousins is, frankly, kinda nutty pants.

Cancun.

They might be at some sort of crossroads. The Jackson thing hasn’t worked out as well as they hoped and now the injuries are piling up, Harbaugh might be getting stale there. My guess is they run it back one more time, then they move on from one or both of them.
To be fair Lamar has made plays to have his teammates fail him. Gave his kicker this past Sunday an easy FG to win the game and he shanked it. Prior to that he made the go ahead TD pass with 2 mins for his defense to fail.

Last year he threw the game tying pass against the Bills in the playoffs but Andrews dropped it.

I'm not a Lamar fan but he has played clutch in big moments. You cant take that away from him.
