First thanks for your family members service. However you seem to have missed the point on what they and all other Veterans fought for. All of us who served protected his very right to freedom of speech, we don't have to agree with him (which I don't) but that is his right as United States Citizen and that is what everyone has fought and died for. Crush him for his opinion if you wish but telling someone to leave because they expressed their opinion is the exact opposite thinking of what this country was founded on.

Thank you for your service.

I'm not arguing what he did was illegal.

I'm arguing that he has zero consideration and respect for the very country he lives in and they fought for.

Why live in a country that you choose not to respect? That's why he should leave.

I can't believe everyone is just ignoring the fact that kaep isn't even a real black person. He has never in his life felt the "oppression" he is referring to. His black father knocked up his white mom and took off on them both. He was then adopted by white parents who took care of him and gave him anything he needed his entire life.
Doesn't mean he shouldn't be concerned about others.

Why should he? Why can't he stay and fight to right for what he believes is wrong. If everyone left that ever felt some facet of this country's politics, etc had gone off the rails there would be nobody left.
Okay, gather 'round children, very good, very good. That's wonderful. Now, is everybody paying attention? You too, Simon. Very good.

Now, do each of you understand, that being part of a country that you love and want to be proud of, means it's not only okay, not only encouraged, but it's really your patriotic duty to speak out when you see injustice and oppression, and to stand up and try to do something about it, and that the perpetrators and supporters of evil who claim they are your countrymen and claim they act in the name of America and wrap themselves in your flag to promote ignorance and stupidity should at least have their citizenships revoked and be deported to some place that will accept our trash?

Excellent! Okay, lunch time everyone!

I see no mention of Pat Patriot in this post. Are you OK?

He isn't concerned about others he's concerned about making headlines to remain relevant because he's an awful nfl qb and his days are just about numbered.

How do we know that?

********.

Opinions and protests are one thing.

Blatant disrespect is another.

For every person in this country there is minimal amount of respect that must have for this country.

Is this lack of respect and more concern for what people think they are entitled to is why this country is having the problems it is
He's expressing himself in an inappropiate manner, and it's an opportunity (which will be wasted) to educate him and mostly young people who feel like him as to what's what and what's right. (not blast him into outer space or something)

That being said, anyone who's black and lives in their poor communities has a lifetime's worth of experience with blatant, minute by minute, open direct personal disrespect embedded for generations.

Treating people with respect is the very first step toward encouraging and educating them, and pointing them in the right direction. It's a socioeconomic, and unfortunately, a political issue. But no, the black people are not the ones who started it.

I didn't know I had to be black to oppose oppression and discrimination...he's doing it the wrong way, but...

If it was up to the Black Panthers the African Americans could chose their own national anthem to do what they wish with.

Well if you feel strongly enough about it to denounce a country that has given you every advantage on your way to a multi million dollar career playing a game I would expect some actual personal suffering to be the cause of the feeling.

Everybody, in some way or other, experiences suffering in their lives, and the priviledged have the most trouble dealing with or even acknowledging it...

I'm not approving of his actions and he may be a whack job; but we should also realize that wealthy pro athletes constitute 0.0000001% of all poor/black people.

I think this has gotten off track. Freedom of speech is about the government not having the right to stop you from Speaking. Mr Kaepernick is an employee of the 49rs and a representative of the NFL and in that capacity he denounced the United States. The NFL absolutely has the right to act on that.

The fact that Kaepernick is an ungrateful idiot is not the point. Look at Hope Solo who was kicked off the team for 6 months after complaining about Sweedes Hope Solo: USA goalkeeper suspended for six months for 'cowards' comment

ME ME ME!!!! LOOK AT ME!!!! IT'S ALL ABOUT ME AND MY WORLD AND ME AND MYSELF AND I AND ME!!!!!

oh wait...time sure is cruel...now you're a nothing nowhere near nobody that no one is paying attention to anymore. What will you do???? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.....

Yet she a woman, gets a 6 month suspension for insulting the Swedes. NFL hates the United States, charges the military to honor soldiers.
