Bobby V made some verbal errors toward the end, but only after the team began to sink in the mire and when he had only Dustin and a bunch of minor league guys in the lineup.
I have been a great fan of Sox for many decades, but have never been that big of fan of any of their managers. Nor do I like the current choices much at all. And I do prefer the Valentine type (smart, bulldog, and disciplinarian to a degree) to run a club that has always been tagged as a "country club" team.
At least with Valentine the manager interviews were not predictable bores as was the case with his predecessors. Maybe Valentine is much more of big city manager--NY, LA (didn't he call Boston a provincial town and not a real city--that probably began the firing process)
I say start at the top and fire the damn general manager--i hate these boy types running this club
