Patriots Player Departure OT Vederian Lowe To The Niners.

Uhhhh. Across the board, there's a lot more going OUT the door than coming IN the door. Should I be worried??
No sense worrying about things you can’t control.
‘Cause if you can’t control them, no sense worrying about them.

And the corollary:

No sense worrying about things you CAN control… ‘cause if you CAN control them, no sense worrying about them.

Anyone worried about Lowe leaving needs to take their meds.

No. This is the 2nd wave of the purge Vrabel was talking about. Not that Lowe was "entitled", but there's a weird logic going around here that you must sign every upcoming FA on the team just because.

And our needs keep on growing. I at this time can’t see us finding upgrades for everyone we’ve lost

Good for him, wish he stayed. He worked his ass off, he was really bad when he first got in there and improved a lot to become a competent backup.

This worries me.

The Pats may pull the Westover tender, which would make him a Free Agent.. But we'll have to see what happens.
I wonder if he's plan b for the blocking TE we couldn't find in free agency.

There are better blocking TEs in the draft than what was available in Free Agency, honestly. We could see the most TEs ever drafted this year. Breaking the 2015 record of 19..

I'd have wanted to keep Verdian-Lowe at that price, but as far as concerns about backup at LT, Vera Tucker is able to fill in

Although they may now be thinking WR at #31 I'm still in the camp of OL in the first round for the RT of the future who can fill in elsewhere too.

Who is it then?

Lowe wasn't great but it might cost to replace him and currently, there are three big needs in the draft: WR, EDGE & Safety, unless they're addressed in FA which is thinning. So we're probably looking at a day 3 LT unless those other needs are addressed.

There's time left, but the market is narrowing.

Safety is a need longer term, but with Byard and Brown added it's good for now. ( I realize this post was before free agency Manx)
