OT: VanNoy

Consider the ex-Patriots playing today that would fill major holes in the current roster. Along with Van Noy you can add Shaq Mason (Houston) and Joe Thuney (Kansas City).
Thuney yes, but Van Noy is really slow right now; he's a one trick pony who is in a top defense. As for Mason, he's been bouncing around from team to team; he almost got Brady killed in his last year in Tampa. I really think he's shot. I'm not even sure he's better than Layden Robinson at this point. Should've never signed Mason over Thuney.

KVN is a great player. Likes to talk a lot too which wasn’t always a good thing.

After the LB injuries maybe on Van Noy, but he is incredibly slow now. He does not cover area as well as Tavai who can't cover at all. Mason is a sieve when it comes to pass blocking. He just can't do it. I'd rather have Robinson in there with the belief that he'll get better.

Ryland > Slye
Jonnu Smith is doing well with Miami. Were okay with TE with Henry and Hooper, sure, but Smith never got the chance to do anything here.

Patriots are an arrogant organization. Quick to bench/dump, and haven't been putting players in a position of strength in a lot of years.

Thuney was one of BB’s few draft picks in the last 10 years that was a golden buzzer and he let him go. Whoever played next to him seemed to do ok whether it be the center or LT. He even convinced the refs that holding calls can’t be called vs his line during superbowls while playing for KC. Oline has never been the same since he and Dante left.

Dante’s gift was his ability to take average talent and turn them into solid players who didn’t hurt them. The list of jags he turned into decent OL is endless.

He kept it simple. This new guy Scott Peters had them buried in technical details.

After the season it’s going to be reset time for the Patriots with OL coaching.

COLE POPOVICH!

And Elandon Roberts for Pittsburgh

WTF does Wolf have to do with this? Belichick was the one who got rid of him.
Bill was the one who found him. How about your boy Wolf finds anyone. Bueller.... Bueller..... Bueller.

That's not saying much. You and Ivan might be upgrades on THIS team.
Even Jordan Devey would be an upgrade.

Nine or ten sacks, and a character guy who is a locker room leader.

How much would be overpaying for him? Would he be an upgrade to our present roster?
At present, given his age and being in a rebuild, I wouldn't acquire him specifically. But, he's the mold of a In their mid-20's/can be acquired by trade or drafted in the 2nd or 3rd Rounds if a potential solid starter or better (Judon was a 4th Round Pick) type player. His "Type" is what any team needs not just from an at least solid backup/situational player/on and off field leader player.

Yes, those are what’s needed across the roster, for most of the players at all positions.

What we’ve got is several steps down from those players. That’s a major failure in several departments.

Not a chance. Both are old and slow. Van Noy is a part time DE who is too unathletic to set the edge.

Mason replacing Onwenu is an upgrade? Not a chance. Tampa let Shaq go because he is average at best.

I agree on Thuney. The Pats went cheap. Big mistake that should have been obvious.

Van Noy is very slow. He has always been good at pass rushing, but he can't stop the run or set the edge. Lots of better guys than Van Noy.
THIS 100%
KVN got exposed in the Philly Super Bowl. Couldn't make even a single play that might have changed the outcome of that game. Did he get faster in the past 6-years??
If the Ravens make the SB versus the Eagles I think he is a total non-factor.
