Jay Gruden has named Kirk Cousins the starting QB for the entire season. So there's that.

is it just me, or is RG3 getting a bad rap. I was the first to point out that I didn't think he was big enough to play QB in the NFL. He was good his rookie year, but his body just broke down on him. (and his coach leaving him out there was almost criminal).

But from then on, its been people digging on him. He seems like a nice enough kid, doesn't get into trouble. Why so much hate? I'll be the first to admit he can't play QB in the NFL, but it seems that there was been an inordinate amount of attacks on his character.

He's an arrogant diva who wouldn't listen to anyone...except his father, who he said was his "real coach". Great way to maintain a relationship with the team's coach!

He won ROY, so not even close. It's like people who say this never even saw Ryan Leaf or JaMarcus Russell play.

If you want to call it the worst draft day trade ever, then sure, I can get behind that. But that's a whole separate thing.

I'm surprised at this. Either Gruden said 'I'm doing it my way Dan - fire me if it doesn't work'(unlikely) or RGIII's actions have turned even Dan against him. Either way, IMHO, this is Gruden's only shot at saving his job.
This isn't about RGIII being a good guy or a diva or whatever. This is about the starter at the QB position being able to produce wins on a sustained basis. RGIII came into the league definitely got it done year 1. RGIII then, stupidly, was kept in while injured by Shanny. The injury aura has not abated while his ability to be consistent has fallen. Now add that to DCs having lots of Pro tape on RGIII and it is looking grim for RGIII.
Bottom line; it is irrelevant why RGIII's consistency has fallen off (injury, OL, receivers, inability to prgress at the Pro level, DCs know him now, etc). The Skins have the team they have and need a QB who can lead/manage/sustain victories with this team. If the coach thinks RGIII isn't the guy to do that he needs to make a change before the coach is changed. Whether it ends up a good move by gruden? We shall see....

He needs a fresh start. That was criminal leaving him in a pre season game behind that line.

I'm not sure how he is in the locker room but the only source I've heard was from the NFL which as we have learned is agenda driven crap anyways.
