I'm not following your logic. We have no idea if they even sniffed him. I don't think we'll such of anything before March 5.

Re: Stallworth to Ravens 1 year, $900,000

Just a hunch. This team needs help at wr, stallworth would of been some nice depth.

Re: Stallworth to Ravens 1 year, $900,000

I think given that Stallworth lost his #3 spot in 2007 to Jabar Gaffney by season's end, the Pats probably didn't have much interest in him now that he carries bad PR and has been out of football for a while. I think they're willing to gamble on a player with one of those factors, but not one with all three.

a "hunch"? Based on what lol

Re: Stallworth to Ravens 1 year, $900,000

Stallworth is not that good anymore IMO

I think Brady had many weapons in 2007 but I noticed on more than one occasion that Brady and Stallworth never hit it off,It was sort of like the Galloway situation in fact IIRC Gaffney as a #4 produced better than Stallworth in 07.

Stallworth would have been another WR waste if he had come back here...I have no doubts.

Deion Branch is a totally different story,He has proven to have been one of Tom's favorite targets of all the WRs who played here in the decade and would no doubt show us a glimpse of the past if he came back.

Noooooooo... The pats couldn't offer him 1.25...?

Based on not wanting to recycle a guy who faded badly at the end of his last run with the team? A guy coming off of a vehicular manslaughter charge? A guy who hasn't played football in a year? A guy who hasn't EVER had a 1000 yard season? A guy who is both injury prone and a career underachiever?

Totally ridiculous statement. Stallworth may be an upgrade over what the Pats have now, but that's not saying all that much. Are we going to cry doom and gloom every time a FA WR signs elsewhere? Or is it just the ex-Pat retreads who fill us with a sense of nostalgia for the "good ol' days"?

Stallworth did fade in the final four games but was respectable during the playoffs.

With that said, its a low risk deal for the Ravens. I wouldn't have a problem bringing him into camp for that type of deal. If BB and Brady don't think it'll work out, they'd send him home. No biggie.

Every time...bank on it. When the ex Pat retreads who fill us with a sense of nostalgia for the good ol' days sign elsewhere it's just a little more evenly split between wailing and bashing...

How many times a week does the sky fall in your World? JHC...the draft is 2 months away and free-agency hasn't even started yet and your freaking out because the Pats didn't sign a guy who just got out of jail, hasn't played football in a year, and obviously didn't impress the Pats when he actually played for them to warrant them to sign him. FYI.....they have a nice little stash of draft picks for the first day and I imagine they have some type of scenario(s) they'll use when they have a better picture of how the $$$ will be spread around this year due to the lack of a CBA.

Take 2 chill pills and call me on June 1st if you don't feel any better.

With the major contracts the Pats have to deal with internally it would not surprise me if the FA Market is not a big deal in NE,This team will take care of thier players FIRST before going out shopping.

The 2010 team is going to rely on new rookies to make an immediate impact and an improvement over last years team IMO

This team is NOT going spending frenzy crazy in FA,I can 150% guarantee you that - Any player chosen in FA will come at a valued tag and if its a big name then its because he wants to play here and take a little less than other offers

People take the no cap year as a year to go nuts in spending money...Kraft will surely not do that, expecially with an unsecured CBA.

In 2007 Stallworth lost his starting job to Gaffney halfway through the year, I doubt 3 seasons later he would have made a big impact for us.

Sorry for Wanting a guy that came cheap and had over 800 yards with the pats 2 seasons ago. You guys will bash me, yet wont bash belichick for spending more money on an 37 year old reciever coming off a bad year and no history in the system. Same people who think 9 hundred k for stallworth is some huge risk, yet have no problem That BB spent 3 mill on a glass rb in taylor, only to you guessed it..see him get hurt in week 5 and waste his roster spot all year just so he can get zero carries in the playoffs. This team has become a bunch of procrastinators. They have so many of thier own contracts to worry about they will be handcuffed. I hope im wrong.

Gaffney IS a better WR than Stallworth....no doubt

Probably the same guys who were predicting 70 catches for Greg Lewis.

I think we should have brought in Donte. He had knowledge of the system and could have been same role as 07 as the Number 3. With Tate taking over after a few games
