With the soon-to-be show about Junior coming out, I need to admit that I feel sadness about how it all ended up. To be so supremely talented and - by all accounts - respected & loved by many... It doesn’t matter how much success you have or how strong you are at your workplace. Was it the blows to the head ? Difficulty adjusting to life after football ? His family woes ? Something else entirely ?

To a lesser extent, he is also one of the main players I feel bad for when it comes to the 2007 season. He wanted so badly to be a part of a championship. I know they (hell, we) all did, but...

I guess I just wish things had gone differently for him.

People would rebel if I link the evil network. 30-30.
The only program worth a damn from them.. I honestly love the 30for30s and have thoroughly enjoyed almost all of them. My favorite: The Best that Never Was- Marcus Dupree. I was disappointed that this Seau one was on streaming, looking forward to finding it on my dvr. Should be a good one (as usual).

His professionalism may have cost them the ‘07 title if Rodney is to be believed. He said in his documentary that on the TD pass that Hobbs got roasted on, he told Junior to check out of the jailbreak blitz and he said no, Bill called it we run it. Rodney didn’t like Hobbs one on one with Plax.

Its a real shame nontheless.

I loved Junior when he played for the Chargers,,,I loved him more as a Patriot.
The reason I cried after that loss in 2007 was because of him. Wanted him to get his first Ring.
Will never forget his passion and love for the game. RIP Junior Seau ,,never forgotten.

I had heard what Rodney said about that play. He has a point but not worth revisiting.

Junior was an outstanding Patriot.

The bigger question is why the hell did Belichick think it was a swell idea to send the house and leave Hobbs on an island alone with Plaxico on that end of the field?

I never actively paid attention to the Giants or anything, but it seemed like their games were always being broadcast on FOX; and, I swear, every time I saw them play, Eli would throw an easy jump ball into the endzone to Plax when they were near the goalline.

Yup. Great idea. Let's send the house and leave our 5'9" corner on an island against what was one of the best WRs in the league at the time that also had 8" on him.

That call came from Bill. It's his defense.

Or Pees...we will never know.

IIRC, Hobbs was thinking it would be a short route as we were blitzing...which is why he was a step late in covering Plaxico who went by him after a little pause.

It could have been the pass rush...or lack thereof itself.

I highly doubt Bill had zero input on that call given how attached he is to the defense on a game to game basis. The point is Hobbs should have never in in that position, on that end of the field, against a WR that had 8" on him, in the first place. Sending the house was a brain dead move and Seau should have let Rodney check out of it.

Seau and Rodney Harrison were the Chargers.

No matter how bad the San Diego team was those two guys always gave 110%. They are like the players at obscure college programs who get drafted by the NFL and become studs worthy of the HOF.

I don't recall Harrison or Seau beeching that they wanted to be traded. They just went to work.
