OT: Russell Wilson traded to Denver

I wonder what this massive haul is.

I'm not convinced this is going to work out for anyone involved except maybe Seattle if they make the most of the trade. Might at least get Denver a playoff spot though, seeing as they weren't super far off to begin with.

So these idiots traded two first round picks for Jamal freaking Adams what two years ago? Now they are blowing it all up? I think unless the return is something mind blowing they lost this deal badly. Pete Carroll should have been the one sent packing if it meant keeping Wilson.
I think Wilson's decline may be real, but he's still good enough to be impactful for at least a couple more years. However, he didn't want to be in Seattle anymore and, with Carroll being supported by team ownership, that was a situation that was not going to be resolved in any way other than Wilson moving on.

It's a shame, but Seattle will at least get some return.

I don't think this changes much for Denver, maybe I'm crazy. The division will still go through KC and they will have to fight Chargers for second. This hurts AFC WC teams.
Yep. Including us. More WC competition.

Although not as much as them getting Rodgers would.

Hope they devour each other.

Well, one thing is for sure, the 1st seed is not coming out of that division.

Even if the best team is in that division, they will go through a gauntlet in the RS. And then, they could run into their division in the playoffs again... or Buffalo or Cincy.

AFC is going to be a bloodbath.

It was hard to tell what the hell was going on with Wilson on the field last year. He looked like his usual self before the finger injury then never looked right after coming back. There were also the whispers Metcalf was getting pissed off about not getting the ball and I know Richard Sherman and some of those Legion of Boom guys didn't ever seem to care for Wilson that much. I think his cornball nonsense has to get old. The guy is a total weirdo but has been a hell of a QB. Maybe he is in decline but it is crazy to me to side with a 70 year old coach over a franchise QB (if that is the case). Carroll must have some real juice out there because that is a mega deal and unless they get lucky on a QB in the draft they're in the basement in a tough division for the remainder of Carroll's career.

As of now, it Brady doesn't return to Tampa Bay, we can pencil in Rams v. Packers in the upcoming NFCCG.

Wilson's like Lamar Jackson, in that he's a two edged sword that creates as many (or almost as many) problems as it solves.

Can you expend on that?

I think Lamar creates A LOT with his legs, but if you can contain him to the pocket (easier said than done), he is useless. He will overthrow wide open guys all day. He has absolutely no touch on his ball. 100mph or nothing. Cannot throw a screen in stride to save his life.

Wilson usually does well if he has time to throw. He can throw on the move, but that is usually when he will make his mistakes. He also throws a beautiful deep ball.

Wilson has terrible pocket discipline, and is the creator of, probably, 60-70% of his sack issues, even though his escapability also gets him away from potential sacks. His scrambling also blows receiver routes, and forces the receivers into a much less complex route running approach out of necessity, because passing angles change when your QB leaves the pocket when it's not part of the play's plan.

Drew Lock, Shelby Harris, Noah Fant, two 1sts, two 2nds and a 5th for Russell Wilson and a 4th.

That's a haul for a guy who doesn't want to be there. Seattle will probably make a play for Watson now.

Makes things a little easier for Brady and his 49ers next year? I'm just sayin'.... lol

Noah Fant is the 3rd player

Trade package: Seattle gets QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, DL Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick. Denver gets Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick.

Based on two firsts not being a crazy haul I have to think a young solid player is involved for the Broncos. Maybe Surtain? I doubt it is a receiver unless Seattle is moving on from Lockett or Metcalf.
