OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Here's the other thing, Bucs likely arent winning their division so as a wild card, all the games are on the road and Brady's road record is 4-4 in playoffs(exlcluding neutral sites like SB). He'll have to win 3 road playoff games to get to the Super Bowl and I don't see it happening......

Teddy Bruschi says that Arians is a block head who is stubborn to change. Also, Teddy says the Bucs running backs have hands of stone and cant catch the 5 yard pass that Brady thrives on.

I'm hearing the opposite, that the great QBs that Arians worked with weren't so great while under his system. Tom seems to be falling right in line with that.

Edit: Upon further review, using Arians' record as a HC only, his QBs prior to Brady have had 184 TDs and 130 INTs in 107 games. Brady's 25/9 totals are below his normal standards but still better than those.
I was just about to post this. Brady has BETTER stats than Arians former QBs which is a testament to Brady given how high risk Arians offense is.
If they can continue to iron things out over the bye week then they can make a legit run the last 4 games and have some momentum for the playoffs.

Gronk is old, Brown is Crazy, and it looks like Brady has been going around the coach to get what he wants. Then the hype surrounding Brady leads to probably unrealistic expectations with a 43 year old qb on a brand new team. Puts the coach in a pretty tough position. Many of the posters here, who are backpedaling just as fast as they can, predicted a super bowl appearance against the chiefs. I can only imagine what the real Bucs fans were expecting. Pretty tough spot to put a coach.
All true, but let's take a peek at the coach : loser who can't adapt.

I don't either. 2020 has been the break in year for Brady and Arians especially with Covid and the no off-season. 2021 is when they make their push for the Lombardi.

Manning did not set any records in his first year in Denver or go to the Super Bowl. He was Joe Flacco'ed in his first playoff game at home for his 8th one and done in the post-season.
PEDton ended up getting his 9th 1&D in 2014, which was a record that I never thought would be broken until Jackson Lamar showed up. At his current rate he could reach that lofty goal in less than a decade.

LOL. Not sure Lamar will last that long to break the record.

Tedy should know.

I also heard him get into a QB discussion and how hard it is to prepare for QBs like Murray and Mahomes. He then specifically mentioned Lamar Jackson, who he said isn't as difficult to prepare for because he's a runner and not as much of a passing threat.

True, but replacing him won't be easy. He's a good enough runner to keep the job.
His biggest drawback though is that he may not make the playoffs enough. Even this year with their creampuff schedule the Ratbirds are close to being eliminated.

Have to make the playoffs to break the record. Ravens are struggling and they play Stelers next. One reason, why I'm liking the NFL less and less is that a guy who can't throw is the current MVP.

Also took a look at Cam.

Leads the league in batted down passes (15) - shocker. He also has 22 "bad throws" which is nowhere near the top of the league.
But he doesn't throw that much in many of the games. Bad throws only occur when you are passing.

1. 7-4 (25-9)
2, 3 & 3. 10-18-1 (39-32)

Bucs are mainly 7-4 because of the defense. The only win the Bucs have when they've given up more than 23 points is against the Chargers

Very telling stat for Brady and that offense

I still think the the Ravens will make it. The only other game they have that isn't a creampuff is the Browns, who traditionally have been a creampuff. They also have the benefit of having the teams ahead of them play each other and/or tougher schedules.

My dream scenario, which is still a possibility, is to have both Indy and Baltimore drop out of the top 7. My only fear if that happens is that the NYFL will create an 8th playoff spot to appease one of them.

As for liking the NYFL less, I have plenty of reasons that are ranked ahead of the MVP. That's been a crap award since PEDton Manning came into the league.

But he doesn't throw that much in many of the games. Bad throws only occur when you are passing.

So then use attempts ÷ bad throws

Brady- 5.2
Newton 11.2

So Brady has had a bad throw every 5.2 attempts and Newton has a bad throw every 11.2 attempts
