It is a mystery to me why Bill wanted to move on from Brady so badly. He was taking cheap contracts since 2013 and would have continued doing that in exchange for a multi-year contract that would have taken him through age 45. I could understand it more if Bill had any sort of transition plan at QB but he had none which makes it all the more head-scratching. At least in terms of the other great QBs, you had quality transition plans - the Colts had Luck, the Packers had Rodgers, the Niners had Young. I mean, for goodness sakes, we have lousy Cam Newton!

Because he was about to turn 43 and no player in NFL history has played at a high level at that age. He would have been willing to give him another 1 year deal to test him out, but Brady seemingly wanted a multi-year deal. I don't blame Bill for wanting to move on. And even Bill didn't know at the time Brady signed with Tampa that Cam was going to be lousy let alone even be on the team.


And yeah, it's on Bill for not having a transition plan from Brady and Gronk.

That would be a better record than Tampa has right now and the Tampa offense is much better than NE's.

It's hard to say. I can't see a win that flips to a loss with Brady. But I think the only certain game that Brady would have flipped is the Broncos game. Maybe the Chiefs too but those were circumstances beyond the team's control and Brady's team lost to the Chiefs this year anyway.

At least the Pats would have a passing game to respect though that's for sure.

They should've won 6 in the first 10 years alone. Overall, they should've had at least 10 with better personnel moves.

The early team (2001-2004) could've gone on a Chicago Bulls type run, but bad personnel moves in 2005-2008 happened.

He had a quality next guy named Jimmy. But in his case the owner told him to get rid of him. On the other teams the owner backed his coach and they got rid of the old guy. Favre, Montana, Manning all finished elsewhere

I have had many posters tell me the opposite. Bill is the one that traded Jimmy not Kraft because of the way Brady was playing at the time. Laughed in Lynch's face when Lynch asked about Brady.

Defense was really terrible in the Niners and Bills games, I think the odds Brady flips those are 50-50 at best.
Chiefs yes, but a healthy Cam could have beaten them too I think. Pats were lucky to catch them on an off day.

Broken down roster has nothing to do with Brady. He wasn't even taking close to top dollar since 2013. The broken roster is 100 percent on Bill.

i think this is exactly what Bill wanted to do, starting in 2021. Brady at QB would have been a band aid for the bigger issues.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, but with this roster there would be no reason to expect a different outcome than the Titans loss last January.

Defense is also a lot worse than it was last year. We lost 20-13 in that playoff game, with this year's roster likely it's something like a 38-7 loss. That side of the ball should not be neglected if we want to see this team come back to contender status anytime soon.

I'd rather have a 10-15 pick instead of pick 22, and just acknowledge the rebuild. Go into 2021 with top3 cap space, a bunch of good young guys now with more experience too.

I would too but Bill is the GM, he mostly likely trades out of the top 10-15 pick and gets a safety.

When he's had a mid range pick he's gone DE (Chandler), LB (Dante), LB (Mayo), DT (Vince), OT (Wynn), he seems good with higher picks. I trust Bill the GM so long as it does not involve any drafting of offensive skill positions , any draft eval involving McDaniels can be used as toilet paper.

LOL. I do hope Bill gets some counsel this year on the draft when it comes to the skill guys.

I also think McD is gone. He is going to do everything in his power to get to the Chargers. I kind of hope he leaves as new blood at the OC would be good for us.

I would love to have kept wife's #2 shirtless heartthrob too as a QB, but don't see how Pats had the cap to sign him for the $ he could get elsewhere, never mind the chance to start elsewhere. Quality players would have been cut to keep Jimmy G.
