I know your default is "durrr 6 rings" but Bill could have kept us in the hunt for 7 if he drafted AJ Brown instead of Harry and Chubb instead of Sony. We should just say "no Bill hasn't drafted poorly the last 5 years" because the 15 before that he drafted well? He could have drafted well for a long time and now drafted poorly in the relatively recent past. It is okay to admit it. Bill is never going to read your post.

They should've won 6 in the first 10 years alone. Overall, they should've had at least 10 with better personnel moves.

The early team (2001-2004) could've gone on a Chicago Bulls type run, but bad personnel moves in 2005-2008 happened.

It's quite hilarious looking at the other threads and all the discussions of finding the next franchise QB, when that discussion could have been put off for 2 or 3 years. NE could have delayed the rebuild. The double digit win streak could have continued. NE could be playing for the playoffs.

What people have to realize is you can hit right away with a franchise QB, or it could take 10 years, or 20. As John Elway is finding out, it's a crapshoot.

For every top 1st round QB, there are 2 other 1st rd failure. It might take 4 years or so to realize it just like Winston/Mariota that Tampa/Tennessee wasted a 1st/2and draft pick and 5/3 seasons.

Okay, I get your point about 2007. Clearly he should have made worse personnel moves in 2007 so they would have lost a couple of regular season games and been able to close the deal at the end.

You do know a franchise QB just means a keeper. In addition to elite players like Roger's and Mahomes, it also includes middle of the pack guys like Stafford and Mat Ryan.

Stafford is a franchise QB. That's why he's been with the Lions for 10+ years. But he needs to play for a better team while he still can. He'd actually be a good fit in NE.

The truth is that NYFL players get to spend far more time with their kids than most dads. That's not counting the NYFL dads who don't care of course.

In my case I spent 40 years working with 2 weeks off in 10 years, 3 weeks off in 10, 4 weeks off in 10 and 5 off in 10. In the weeks I worked I probably averaged 60+ hours a week.

I agree that Brady in 2019 wanted out. But that is because of what happened in 2018.

After NE won the 2018 SB, Brady wanted a multiyear commitment. Bill the GM wouldn't give him more than 1 year at a time as he thought wrongly that he could get a better QB and wanted the flexibility to kick him to the curve a year early rather than a year late just like a JAG.

Bill the GM should have given Brady the treatment a player of his stature deserved, like Kobe and Manning were given by their teams. Manning retired a year too late, was awful, but he was still better than the other Denver QB of the future, and won a SB.

So yeah, in 2018 Brady wanted to retire a Patriot and checked ou in 2019 cause of Bill the GM.

It is a mystery to me why Bill wanted to move on from Brady so badly. He was taking cheap contracts since 2013 and would have continued doing that in exchange for a multi-year contract that would have taken him through age 45. I could understand it more if Bill had any sort of transition plan at QB but he had none which makes it all the more head-scratching. At least in terms of the other great QBs, you had quality transition plans - the Colts had Luck, the Packers had Rodgers, the Niners had Young. I mean, for goodness sakes, we have lousy Cam Newton!

I do think letting AB go had part to do with it. But also bill doing nothing to address Wide receiver after the season. Had he gotten Diggs or Hopkins brady might stay. But instead he rolled out the same trash. Probably even worse than last year

Would they be better? Yes, but it would be more of the same as last year. Idk if Brady wanted to go through that again. Let's not forget how bad brady and the offense looked last year.

That's what doesn't make sense. If we still had Jimmy G waiting in the wings Bills strategy would make sense.

Once Jimmy was traded it should've been all in on Brady until you find the next Jimmy G. If Brady declines or is a shell of himself is it any worse than where we are now?

That would be a better record than Tampa has right now and the Tampa offense is much better than NE's.

It's hard to say. I can't see a win that flips to a loss with Brady. But I think the only certain game that Brady would have flipped is the Broncos game. Maybe the Chiefs too but those were circumstances beyond the team's control and Brady's team lost to the Chiefs this year anyway.

At least the Pats would have a passing game to respect though that's for sure.
