OT: NFL Week 5 Other Games

Belichick’s coaching tree is embarrassing. He must be ashamed his young protégés go off and run other programs into the ground

Embarrassing playcall by mcdaniels on 4th and 1 with Jacob’s having 160 yards rushing…they pass lol. Run it, then spike. Still plenty of time

That 2 point conversion call. LOL

Mahomes is a winner

McDaniels wants to be fired so he can come back and develop Zappe.
They all come running back to little Billy just like WALDO Patricia did

Mcdaniels won’t get another chance ever again after the raiders fire him

And how does Adams not make that catch? That's one that he normally makes with his eyes closed

When are these teams gonna learn to stop poaching our assistants for HC openings?

Ahh well. At least this knocks down the Raiders for competing for a WC spot. Chiefs are winning that division regardless.

Jets worst 3-2 team in the history of the nfl

Pats best 2-3 team in the history of the NFL.

Mahomes TDs to Kelce:
1 yard
4 yard
8 yard
1 yard
Degree of difficulty: Easy

Zappe TD to Meyers: perfect bullet for 24 yards. 24 > 14
Degree of difficulty: Hard

Zappe may be a rookie, but his future is very bright.

In all seriousness I know Kelce is no Gronk, but he gets open everytime. I don't know why defenses never can stop it

Pats moving up in the standings. We're better than the defending AFC Champs. You can thank Zappe for that. Next stop, demolish the Browns and keep them in the cellar where they belong. Then, trample the lowly Bears. By then Zappe will have a 3-0 record, 6 TDs / 1 INT (thanks Agular) and the #5 WC seed. We can then let Mac handle the Jete, lol.

JMC is that you?

It makes sense if they can stop KC and then run the clock out w/o having to score. Now they have to score.

You're facing Mahomes & Co., and they've put up 30 points against you. Even if you make the 2, you're kicking off to a team that only needs a FG, but now needs that FG, and can't just allow the clock to go. So, in essence, you're significantly increasing the chances of a loss by either 1 or 2 for the unlikely possibility of a win by 1, and you're killing any realistic chance of a tie or overtime.

That's not the way analytics works. You're trying to use common sense. Analytics is a deep science.

The problem with analytics continues to be that its strength is its weakness.
over a decade ago I got into this on this board...you can take all the stats all the analyses, all the numbers, all the tendencies..and run them right up the flagpole. At its' heart, NFL football is a war game, the most important aspect of which is TO IMPOSE ONE'S WILL. Win the battle of wills and avoid turnovers and your team WILL win most of its' games.

The problem's not the data. The problem's that the data needs context. "If you're down by X with Y minutes to go, you make the Z move" is, first, designed to be right over time, not in single instances, so even relatively large percentage examples aren't necessarily of any real use in the moment at hand. It is, second, not team and player specific enough (Having to stop Brady in the last quarter is different than having to stop Blaine Gabbert, for example). And, third, the data is designed to take the emotion and human component out of the equation, but data without that sort of informing context is often exactly what you do not want.
