OT: NFL issues slap on the wrist for Giants (200K in fines and lowers 4th round draft pick )

Between infuriating nonsense like this and such overall poor quality of the gameplay league wide, it's been so easy to only watch Pats games.

What a Joke. So F*cking sad and obvious. Don't they realize that these kinds of moves are making Pats haters into Pats sympathizers.
I've noticed this too. I am not saying "the tide is turning" but I have noticed a couple comments.

In reality the only thing that was wrong is the pick. Take it away don't move it back. There wasn't a major problem to me overall on the fine.

The real problem is the the discrepancy between punishments. Violation caught on camera, added to a violation the week before and nobody gets suspended? That's the huge problem.

I would like to see BB grab his walkie this weekend and just chit chat with Brady... Think there'll only be a small fine and a 12 spot 4th round pick drop for him?

Do you believe in unicorns?

....and how interesting it was for them to ignore the Giants testing the footballs on the sidelines. That is a no-no.

Obviously it was a decision to avoid the spotlight on that particular issue.

So they were actually caught cheating and got that and we did nothing wrong but got accused and lost a 1 a 4 a million and 4 games of Brady.
This league is just a complete joke.

AND, while the Giants' 4th round pick wasn't lost, just lowered by 12 slots maximum, the Pats actually lost 1st and 4th round picks, and were further hampered by the stipulation that they would lose the higher pick if they traded for higher ones in the round.

That wasn't punishment, that was spite.

I wish I didn't love football so much, but Goodell's NFL* is breaking me of that.

Unbelievable.

Giants' 2007 and 2011 Superbowl wins need asterisks.

Such BS double standard, I guess there are nuances in the integrity thing.

Problem I have with it is how giants had a helmet fitted with a walkie talkie speaker ready to go. Because there is absolutely no way they inserted one mid-game.

As I understand it...they have the walkie talkie's tuned to the same frequency as the headsets, so that backup QB's can listen to the calls and chart the plays etc...hence the ear pieces you often see them wear. Now it is supposedly well known throughout the league that in no circumstance should any one communicate over the walkie talkie to the QB. As foolish as that sounds. I'm guessing Ol' McDonald must of thought it only pertained to backup QB's and not the OC's.

Why that would even be an option is beyond me. You can have a one way radio device tuned in thus making communication back to the QB impossible. But whatever this is a ****ing joke!

Somebody posted the league rules in last weeks thread. IIRC: If both teams headsets go down for some length of time, the officials can allow both teams to use the walkietalkie system.

Discipline? Sounds more like motivation for the playoff run ..
