It depends on the person. The influence of one or the other on a person varies. But yes both play a part.

Yes. His brother says AH was raped by a male babysitter when they were young.

Their father had a drinking problem and abused their mother.

I missed the reference to a babysitter. But his brother was definite that he knew Aaron was raped.

This is the dumbest documentary ever. 3/4 of the cast and crew have suddenly had "experimental sex" with Hernandez. It was back and forth about him presumably being gay.

To put it in perspective, episode 2 has his long time high school football QB act stereotypically queer. He was trying to sell off that he and Hernandez were gay lovers. Oversold the lisp and limp-wristing, like he was one of the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy crew.

Then you had the botched evidence by the police. Nothing was 100% ever conclusive that tied Hernandez to the murders. No fingerprints or videotapes or murder weapons. The silver SUV couldn't even be traced back to Hernandez. Again, where was the undisputed evidence that Hernandez was the one who killed the two gang bangers?

I think Jose Baez is absolutely full of it when he tries to talk about their last interaction and how Hernandez was looking forward to getting out, etc. My opinion is that Baez may have even advised him. After all, that was his job and he is an excellent lawyer.

Sorry if it's not a place for this question... But I don't want to start another thread about AH, one is enough really...
Is it true that AH held (or holds) national high school record for most receiving yards per game in a season with 180? I tried to double check, but NFHS RecordBook online doesn't mention Hernandez; the top entry is Greg Washington with 178.5 ypg in 1996. So is the Wikipedia wrong about AH numbers or was he erased from record books?

I’m not familiar with talk of the record, but it would seem very odd to erase someone’s accomplishments on the gridiron for any reason.

Was I the only one who noticed Gerry Callahan seemed to be reveling in the salacious interview with a Michele McPhee who claimed that Hernandez was gay??

As much as I could never blame anyone for his death.. his upbringing was a perfect storm of sexual abuse, exposure to abuse in the home, physical abuse of him and CTE. Have to wonder if his suicide was brought on by similar factors: all of the above, knowledge that he was going back to prison for a long time and simultaneous outing of his "bisexuality" were factors in the choice he made.

He may have never heard the interview, but a Correctional Officer may have and chided him with the highlights of the interview.. for a guy will such a fragile psyche, probably would not take much more to push him over the edge..

The first two episodes were good, but the last one didn’t do as good of a job, especially wrapping it up. The third episode kind of sucked in my opinion.

what stuck out to me (among other things) is Kraft seems to really care about his players and BB is a cold blooded jerk. Kraft testifies and gives glowing praise about how first class AH is while he was with the Pats. in another part of the series, AH is afraid for his life and talks to BB about getting traded to the west coast to get away from these guys he thinks will kill him...BB says nope, and advises him to get a hide out apartment which someone from the Pats sets up for him. Damn

BB probably thinks you got in this mess and you better get out of it without affecting the team.

im thinking somebody had to have advised him on that and it very well could have been baez, ah is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Even then baez is probably smart to keep that hidden and make it look like he never planted that idea in his head.

From the courtroom scene when Kraft walked in, it was very clear that AH thought of Kraft as some kind of father figure. Hard to watch, really. Like 99% of the doc., I suppose.

I watched the series as I am weirdly fascinated by all things Aaron Hermandez. I agree with those who said there wasn't much new there, although I either did not know, or forgot, that he was asked NOT to return to FL for his senior year. That shoulda, woulda been a big red flag for me. I also found Gerry Callahan's gleeful reporting of the gay rumors disturbing, particularly when you put that beside the fact that AH committed suicide just two or three days later. A huge tragedy all around no matter who or what is to blame.

i agree. while waiting for Kraft to appear, AH was fidgeting in his chair and sitting up straight. Obviously Kraft meant a lot to him.
