Did BB pull the trigger a little too quick on being a college HC ?
His timing for the NC job was always bizarre to me. This outcome with the Cowboys was totally predictable and that wont be the only job that will get opened between now and the draft.

DAMN That's actually huge. I didn't think that they'd do it.

That makes McCarthy one of the biggest gets of this cycle and that makes Dallas a prime location.

Kinda glad we locked up Vrabel now. The war for Ben Johnson just got intense.

this might put a kink into TB12's BJ plans
I dunno man. Jerruh is a real pain in the ass. I get that Johnson is a great offensive mind and Dallas has all the shiny toys, but I don't know if a rookie HC has enough juice to tell the owner "no".

He was a head coach for 13 seasons with the Packers, four more with Cowboys.
He took a year off between Packers and Cowboys.
Not sure he'd want to be an OC again after 17 years as a head coach.

If you go to Dallas you have to accept that it's Jerry's team and he is the GM. You are the coach and you handle on field. But that's the situation

Never say never.

Kind of a **** move outta Jerruh, preventing McCarthy from talking to Chicago then stiffing him on term.
If I were Johnson I wouldn't go near the Boys HC job with Jones pulling the strings.

more surprised it took JJ this long to fire him than i am by him getting fired...

think he gets a third shot? wasn't able to get anything going in Dallas... pretty much think he's done...

Jets? They love their Green Bay castoffs.

I mean he's legitimately a good coach. He's won a Super Bowl, he's been to 4 NFCCG's, he has 11 playoff wins, he's known developing QB's, he's made the playoffs 12 out of the 18 years he's coached. He got the Cowboys to consecutive playoff appearance 3 years in a row. The last time they had consecutive playoff appearances was 2006-7.

Honestly if he was on the market a week ago he would have been talked about in the same breath as Vrabel and Johnson as one of the top gets of the market. He's like the perfect mix of them. Established and experienced coach who is a disciplinarian that sets a culture but is also a strong offensive mind and can run up plays on that side of the ball. Plus unlike them he has a ring and a pedigree of consistently getting to and winning playoff games.

Make him our OC if other Teams pass.
