He's a WR like Larry Izzo was a LB. Plays the position sometimes but he isn't the guy you want out there when the game is on the line.He is a WR.

Cribbs is a player UNDER CONTRACT who is not interested in playing for the browns anymore. I have little use for such players.
He is a WR.
Cribbs receiving stats this season...
20 receptions, 135 yards, 1 TD. He's not a WR. He's listed as a WR, but he isn't one. He's a wildcat quarterback and a punt returner. Personally, I'll pass. He's yet another project and would be paid too much to do what he's best at, return kicks.
Normally mg I am in total agreement, I hate it when players whine about previously signed contracts. In this case though, Cribbs is getting a raw deal. Yeah he signed a long term contract, but the Browns organization should realize what an asset he is to the club. And from what I have read, he is not asking for a lot of money IMO.
Well you know what's funny? He was QB in HS and college, and got turned into a WR in the NFL. Gee, doesn't that remind you of something?
He's a returner with three more years on his contract and has been offered $1.4M a year by the browns. He has had a great year. If he had a lousy year, would he be offerring money back?
Under new direction (Mike Holmgren), the Brown's front office has reportedly offered Josh Cribbs a feeble raise to just $1.4 million per year, which Cribbs and his agent apparently scoffed at.
"If they had offered even something like $2.5 million per season we could have worked with them," Cribbs' agent, J.R. Rickert said.
No longer a one-dimensional threat, Cribbs appears to be well worth the money he and his agent are asking for, and they are intent on getting it.
Hard to gauge whether he can play receiver when he's got a couple of chumps rotating into the QB position trying to throw the ball.
Agreed. The six or seven times I have seen Cribbs play over the last few years he has been an impact performer in the return game, on special teams, and at times from scrimmage. He is a true football player in the Troy Brown mold--undrafted yet always productive player who tackles on special teams as well as returning kicks--and I do not see the risk in paying him 2.5-3.5 million dollars.
