OT: Jets trade for Panthers OT Otah

Are you denying the Jets had one of the best OL's in the league when Wooldy was at RT?

What is the significance of how good was the line 2 years ago?

Otah has not played well since Nov or 2009 how he played 2 1/2 years ago means nothing.

It is a shot in the dark with little or no downside that is it.

I doubt that anyone here would deny you that pleasure, of acknowledging that for one year, the Jets had one of the best OL's in the league.

The reason being, no one here cares about something that happened years ago unless is was directly related to the pursuit by our team of a Super Bowl ring. We don't care about how good a unit on an old team was, except in that context.

We recognize that this type of thing matters to Jets fans, because, well, it's all you have. Even the one significant victory in Jets history, back when the Super Bowl was an exhibition game (pre-merger), has been tarnished by your winning quarterback's recent drunken pass at a reporter on live TV. That's what the nation now thinks of when his name is mentioned. It is all so sad.

They did. Emphasis on the past tense. 40% of that line no longer plays for the Jets, and has yet to be adequately replaced. And no, until he proves otherwise, Otah can't be assumed to be an adequate replacement, seeing as he's barely seen the field in two years, has a major chronic injury, and is known for being lazy anyway.

Twenty years from now, many Jets fans like Rah!Rah! will touting their back to back AFC Championship appearances and their two great drafts in 2006 and 2007 as if they mean something today (or today 20 years from now). It is funny that Jets' homers like Rah!Rah! will continue to bring up things like having the best o-lin in 2010 or the back to back AFC Championship appearances like they are relevant today.

But if a Pats fan thinks that the Pats could win the Super Bowl this year because they were one minute away from winning it last year, Rah!Rah! will be the first one to jump over them for being a Patriots homer and last year doesn't mean anything. Rah!Rah! is a classic homer who speaks out of both sides of his mouth.

Ah-Tah!!....AH TAH!!

man I love Ah tahs :rocker:

So much for that "elite status". Enjoy another season of Wayne Hunter.
