OT: Didn’t the Rams have to disclose Gurley’s injury?

I think you're missing this sentence: "The club must continue to list the player on its weekly Practice Reports until the player’s injury no longer affects the player’s performance."

So it doesn't matter how old the injury is if it affects the player's performance.

It probably technically is, but I feel like they let more things slide in the Super Bowl. Not because they WANT teams to hide injuries in the biggest game (that draws huge gambling dollars), but because they don't want the biggest event of their calendar year to be detracted by an injury report scandal, or debate about the discipline levied for it. That said, if there's proof out there that's too obvious to ignore, I'm sure the league would throw a fine at the Rams.

If you are the league you probably don't want the amount of air pressure in footballs to dominate Super Bowl week either, but look what happened there.

Note that Gurley was tracked as the fastest player on the field in the Super Bowl. So at least on one dimension he was fine - he may not have been able to cut as well as normal I suppose.

I know teams have to disclose players status in practice but why isn’t hiding this injury a violation? Unless the rules changed and you can hide these injuries now?

If you listen to the entire interview, CJ "I don't do fat chicks" Anderson said Gurley was 100% for the playoffs. His theory is that as soon as you hurt your knee, it'll always be nagging you forever, speaking from his own experience of his torn meniscus.

Did the rams disclose his injury when he was inactive for a few games? if so then I think they're in the clear.

From the NFL Injury Report Policy:

Practice Report:

If any player has a significant or noteworthy injury, it must be listed on the practice report, even if he fully participates in practice and the team expects that he will play in the team’s next game. This is especially important for key players whose injuries may be covered extensively by the media.

It sure looks like the Rams were in violation but it seems to me as long as you fully take part in practice, teams don't list players on the injury report. I guess it all comes down to what is significant or noteworthy. Players play through all sorts of injuries and teams also give players a reduced role at times.

I just think that the Rams and Gurley were trying to make it seem that he was more healthy then he really was.

To say the Rams did not know is difficult to believe, they are trying to tell us no one knew how badly he was injured makes no sense to me.. a star player on the biggest stage and none of the coaches, players and training staff noticed a knee injury???

Do not want to go into the abyss of different standards for the Patriots and all that, but come on now this whole thing is ludicrous.. maybe Kurt and Marshall were whispering in the ear of McVay on how he could get the Pats back from 2002.
