In super bowl 46 Brady started the game 20/23 199 yards and 2 TDs and 0 INTs. People completely forget this. Then he took a bad sack where he dislocated his non throwing shoulder and the offense no longer did anything. But before that he was almost literally perfect.

Brady made a great play to avoid a sack on the play he threw a pick in SB 46. Had Gronk been healthy he probably would have either caught the pass or at least prevented the INT. Same with the game-ending hail mary, Gronk just didn't have his usual lower body stability.

After getting brutalized all night Brady led a clutch TD drive to put the Patriots up 4 in SB 42. The defense had several opportunities to put that game away on their final drive and they just couldn't make a play. Similarly in SB 46 they needed to make a stop with the lead late and again they couldn't do it. They nearly choked up SB 49 if not for the Butler pick (which was a bad play call and a worse pass).

Yep. After the Tuck sack Brady went 6-17.

Hey MAC10. You think you're clever or funny or that you got me or you got someone else with you're emojis with no commentary. You've been exposed as a troll. You've been called out for posting your sacked Brady picture in your signiture by several people here. You have a long history of outright mocking Brady. Then you go on with your on "intellectual" discusion and think you've actually fooled everyone into thinking you have unbiased valid arguments. So I'm asking you to be a man and own up to it. Please explain the sacked Brady picture and the 2 plus year history of mocking "Tommy Boy". Then explain how on earth you think anybody respects your opinion. Your posting history renders your opinions bullshiit.....and please don't prove your juvenile mentality by answering with an emojis. You already look stupid. Don't double down on it. You have to have an explanation. If its not Brady hate then what is it?

Sure, he's the GOAT, but not wrt performance in the SB...that's Montana.
SB52 was the greatest QB performance in Super Bowl history. 505 yards passing, 10.5 YPA, 3 TD, 0 INT, 115 rating and absolutely zero margin for error thanks to Belichick's defense getting clowned by Nick Foles of all people. Imagine thinking making a point to Malcolm Butler was more important than winning a football game.

Sorry, it doesn't match Montana's Super Bowl 24...not even close.

297 yards passing, 5 TDs, ZERO Ints, 147 rating

And Montana got pulled from the game with 11 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. If he played the whole game, he would have gotten 7 TDs lol.

Brady's strip sack in SB 52 disqualifies him from having the greatest SB performance ever.

No he didn't.

Correct, he didn't show up in SB 42.

No he didn't make any such guarantee.

And yeah Brady's Super Bowl 52 performance was better than Montana's. That game was not competitive. Brady had zero margin for error. He matched the Eagles score for score.

Thank Bill and his defense for that.

Other coaches would get their walking papers for something like that and rightfully so.

Laughing at an opponent's assertion that the Pats were going to score 17 points is tantamount to a guarantee that you are going to score more than 17 points...did you think Brady was laughing at Plaxico because Brady thought the Pats were going to score only 10 points?

And I said above, Tommy's strip sack fumble with 2 minutes left to in the game disqualifies him from having the greatest SB performance ever. I'm not sure I would put it in the top 5 even.

That strip sack was on Mason for blowing the protection. When the RG whiffs like that on a pass play then most of the time this will be the outcome. Also remember Brady threw for 505 yards without his #1 receiver for most of the game and had to match the other offense score for score because his head coach deliberately crippled his defense. Montana never had to overcome those challenges in that Super Bowl, it was not competitive.

That laugh =/= a guarantee that the team would score more than 17. Yeah I know he did that but it could have been for any reason like surprise. I probably would have done the same thing.

Montana lit up the number 1 defense in the league in SB24...

If you are going to pick any Brady SB performance, I would take SB51 over SB52. I still don't think either rise to Montana's SB 24 performance though.

Am I the only one that sees a couple heading towards a breakup here?

Let's be honest here... Montana is an overrated stiff. He won Super Bowls on the backs of an innovative HC, HOF teammates and great defenses. Take away Joe Walsh, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, and Charles Haley and Montana would have been his generation's Philip Rivers. SF's passing offense was entirely dependent on fast, highly skilled receivers and YAC. Montana was practically handing the ball off to burners like Rice and Taylor who would pile up stats for average Joe.

Look at what happened with SF's offense after Montana left... it got BETTER! Steve Young, a 1st round bust, looking like a journeyman backup, took over Walsh's west coast offense and promptly made 7 consecutive pro bowls (when it actually meant something), 3 all pros, and won 2 NFL MVP's. Young also blew the doors off Montana's best SB performance with 325 passing yards, 6 TD's, and even led his team in rushing yards.

Take a closer look at what average Joe was doing in the postseason when he wasn't riding the coattails of his HOF head coach and teammates. 3-7 with 13 TD's and 11 INT's. Look at his utterly PATHETIC performance against Buffalo in the '93 AFCCG... 9-23 (39%), 125 yards, 0 TD & 1 INT. He was awful and HE was the reason why KC lost that game. He should have just quit then but he came back for one final humiliating season. At least Brady went out on top unlike average Joe who proved he was NOTHING without the REAL HOFers in SF.

Are you ever going own up to openly mocking Brady for over 2 years and your signiture picture of him sacked? Why are the only Brady stats you post negative ones? So until you do all we see out of your "intelligent discussion" is "blah, blah, blah. Come on Tommyboy12, answer me. The answer is clear me. I'd just like you to admit it.

LOL, talk about an idiot...Montana's HC was Bill Walsh. And he won 2 super bowls without Rice, Craig, Taylor, Lott, or Haley.
Next.

Crowhammer is your typical millenial..doesn't know football before 2000.

Montana was great. Let's not go all MAC10 logic here. Brady is clearly the GOAT but Montana deserves a lot better than overrated stiff status. He was arguably the GOAT until SB 49. He's been almost lapped since then tbough
