Good signing, Sanders is the cog that makes the Colts D work. Clark on franchise tag is also sensible and inevitable. My only question mark is around the Colt's management negotiating skills. They always seem to pay the highest dollar amount which sets expectations for all other deals. They should have got Freeney for at least 10m less and Sanders for 5m less. They did the same with Manning, Harrison and Wayne. So the pattern is set and the agents know it..... Once you get the rep for being a big payer its very hard to change. End result is loose change for all those that have to plug the holes.
Have to laugh though at Colt's fans on this board appraising defensive skills and players, when for this whole decade they have concentrated on offense. Dissing Henderson and Stroud on the Jaguars while giving creds to Taylor and Jones Drew just emphasizes the focus on offense. The myopia around other teams' great D players is amazing. Oeminyura, James Harrison, Van Den Bosch,Kampman, Peppers (tho not this season), Willis, Springs, Taylor (RIP alas) Faneca - the list is just too long (and I haven't mentioned a Patriot because you dont have to wear homer glasses to see skills in other teams). Yes DF and BS belong on one of the top groups, but realistically its the top 50 not top 5.
