OT: Coaching firings around the league

Calling plays, running the scheme, developing the game plan, personnel packages, mentoring the QB, designing routes so WR/TE don't bump into each other is required.

BB is not Mike Shanahan. He needs someone with deft offensive coaching ability.

Absolutely worth a look. No question.
i think we need someone outside the organization who isn't "company blind" if that is somehow the right translation..

Some outside perspective with other schemes, play designs and experience with calling offense plays will do wonders for our offense imo.

Agree, I think we are at that point.

It's mind-boggling how reckless and assumptive BB was during the 2022 off season.

"Let's change the entire offense and have 2 coaches run it who have A) never been OC or QB coach before B) Designed game plans and called plays and C) Never run the offense at a tactical level."

Goddammit.

Someone who isn't going to "yes" Bill to death.

Glad Lovie Smith got one over on Houston before ultimately getting fired.

That two point conversion was an FU to the entire Texans organization.

Instead of getting 1st OA, they will need to give away picks to the Bears or stay put without a legit QB in house.
The Bears will probably trade down with another team.

I think the Broncos would be stupid to hire Mayo or any defensive minded head coach. They have mortgaged their future on Russell Wilson. They need to hire a head coach who is going to fix him. That is the #1 priority of the Broncos right now.
Payton is going to Denver. He’s confirmed to be interviewing for the job and their ownership would be nuts to let him leave the building.

i am not so sure, could be yeah, but they gotta find a partner, teams know bears may like to trade down.
i can imagine colts/lions are seahawks going for a qb

Wasn’t that 2 seconds?

Nope it was one of the first rounders the Dolphins got from the 49ers for them to trade up for Trey Lance. The talk around the time of the trade was how the Dolphins traded away the #3 overall pick in 2021 for Waddle, Hill, and Chubb.

Houston is just one big mess. Two years in a row, a one and done coach. Obviously their record was poor, but did anyone really think they could turn around the team in one year? Especially without a franchise QB. From afar it looks like their ownership is just as incompetent as the Jets.
Feels like they knew they were going to suck this year and hired Lovie as a seat warmer. Now they have high draft picks to get a QB and start the build. Maybe that's enough to attract a legit HC.

Agree Payton isn’t leaving that building then.

Another spots.

Hearing Jonathan Gannon to Houston.
I could see Mayo in Philly
Carolina is interviewing, Frank Reich, Jim Caladwell.
