OT: Browns place RGIII on IR with Broken Bone

Keep in mind, the browns have their own pick and Philly's from the "Wentz" trade, giving them more flexibility. I watched the hit on RG3 and knew from the sound of it, he was injured. He stayed one more play and them hobbled off....

That really is tragic. I feel bad for him and his team. Thank God for Cleveland fans the Cavs won this past year. Otherwise the lake would be full of weary Browns fans who have simply had enough.

On the other hand, while the Browns head inevitably towards the #1 pick in the draft, to go along with the boatload of other picks they have, what an interesting trade partner they might make.

Think about the possibilities. Goodell handing Brady the Lombardi in February, and then handing a Patriots Jersey to the #1 pick in the draft in April. Just think about THAT the next time you feel the need for an erection.

But what do we have to trade that the Browns need?

I didn't really think of that as a realistic possibility because Cleveland has a zero point zero chance of making the playoffs.

I'd love to see it happen but I just dont think it's an apples to apples comparison because Cleveland not really in the same jam the Vike's were.

No. I think that the Browns and Patriots will both wait until the off-season before any wheeling and dealing is done..

Hypothetically speaking, if they think that Jimmy G is a franchise QB, they wouldn't be viewing it as a one-year rental. At worst they would view it as rookie contract in 2017, franchise tag in 2018, and 2nd franchise tag in 2019 (likely 120% of 2018 salary). Ideally of course they would sign him to a long-term extension at some point during the 3 years.

That's a great point. In theory James could be made available as soon as the Houston game is in the books next Thursday.

Give JG 3 more solid games and see how it goes. Hate the speculation of what he is worth after 1 game. I would say a lot more than Mallett and a little more than Cassell at this point. Could change with one atrocious game.

No. I think that the Browns and Patriots will both wait until the off-season before any wheeling and dealing is done..

My opinion is the haul would not be as high at the end of the season because there will be other options for them.

Now if we see a starting QB, on a good team go down in the next couple weeks We could be looking at a ransom trade.
